It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30! This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.

Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.

We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.

With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,

Holly Longdale

    I think it's a good thing.

There should be a handful of mini-games like plunderstorm to do for fun and they could even have mini seasons/map rotations, etc

Rumors are sounding like Pandamonium will be a vampire survivors mode

I just wonder if they will make these and ignore them like they do with all content that isn't arenas, M+, or raids.

Or if they will be evergreen additions that get some actual support.

I doubt it. You'd still have to install the full 100+GB game in order to play Plunderstorm, which sucks for anyone not already playing the main game.

Yeah could have separated it from the client. They're able to do seamless rewards anyway as evidenced by Hearthstone and other games.

No no, they're free to experiment all they want. As long as it's only stuff i want and like. I cant wait to see the amazing stuff they make, for me.

They managed just fine for the past 20 years. No clue what you're trying to say here

Yes, because ever since the game was launched, it has been under continuous development and experiments. Stopping the experiments would mean stopping the flow of the game.

The game has had massive grinds since vanilla.
what they are saying is if you don't like grinds, MMO maybe not for you.
Plunderstorm is a really big grind, but it is far from being wows biggest grind, FAR, there is atleast 10 longer grinds I could name for you right now.

Just would like to mention that Plunderstorm is literally not "the game". It's an outside of the game activity.

Still them experimenting with the game, even if it doesn't affect the progression servers.

Most of it isn't pvp, though. You spend the early game killing mobs for xp and loot. Just do that an avoid players and you can make it to the top 30 easily.

Based on what exactly? The number of players playing? Well ALOT of them just wanted the transmog in the game they ACTUALLY want to play but felt forced to play plunderstorm to get it - Felt forced to play another game entirely.
This is me included - I did the grind in two days hating every part of it, but just wanted a cool pirate set for my outlaw rogue.

I really hope this doesnt become part of WoW retail as something you should do often to get mogs, and mounts and such. Then I might actually quit the game.
Especially if the BR game mode enters wow - For me its the worst of the worst in all game modes I have ever tried.

But anywho - I am excited to see what they bring, because for me Dragonflight has been a huge success and I have had a huge amount of fun. Mostly because I am an altoholic and that has been great in Dragonflight.

They can’t do that because then people get upset that they aren’t hearing something from the company every day to abate their fears that the game has nothing happening.

It' won't ever be not funny to me how around half of people here take plunderstorm for the innocent fun experiment it is while the other half curses it to be the worst thing ever lmao.

Considering you can survive the first minute or so (usually more than enough time to complete the bounties) it seems you aren't sure what you are supposed to do. If you are dying that quickly, have you tried looking at a guide online to see what you are supposed to be doing? The PvE mobs you can avoid everything just by sidestepping except for the bladestorms that require you to get out the circle. You can even pull like 6-10 mobs and barely take damage too.

random aside but they just added a kill counter to plunderstorm, nice change

No wonder you hate it. You grinded it out in two days. Thats most likely alot of played hours in a event that is supposed to last 6+ weeks. I bet they will even increase the renown gain the last couple of weeks too. You could easily be more relaxed about it, play it a couple of rounds each day and you would obtain it without nolifing it for two days. So weird behaviour.

Its reaching insanity levels. At one point people gotta realise this is a game, not life. I feel really, really sad for people that force themself to grind out 40 renown levels just to obtain certain items in wow. I do wonder how much they do content they dont really like doing, but they like getting the rewards.
