Cataclysm Beta - Build 12759

Update 09:40PM PST - Added Nemesis.
Update 09:15PM PST - The new 310% Speed Flying Mount skill costs 5000 gold to train. People who already own a 310% flying mount get it for free.
Update 08:15PM PST - Masteries and Armor Specializations are available for testing. (Cataclysm Masteries List, Armor Specialization List)
Update 08:05PM PST - The Mounts & Companion Pets are now in the spellbook with a brand new interface.
Update 08:05PM PST - The UI for Paladin's Holy Power is here.
Update 07:40PM PST - Added Guild vendor rewards.
Update 07:25PM PST - Added Tol Barad Reputation Rewards.
Update 07:10PM PST - Relics slots have stats now and are just named Relic now it seems. (Totems, Sigils, Librams, etc)
Update 07:00PM PST - Tol Barad, the new PvP/Daily Quest zone is open for testing, and people keep trying to hurt me. More on that later.


Cataclysm Beta - Build 12759
A new build is being deployed on beta realms, just like any beta build, it will be painful, a lot of stuff will break, and I have no idea if I'll be able to give you all the content on the first day.

On the upside, Thrall is getting a new model. Stay tuned for changes!


Nemesis in Hyjal looks really nice too.


Guild Vendor Rewards
The Guild Vendor is here, a lot of items are placeholders but it should give you a pretty good idea of what it will offer.

Loading screens for each continent have been updated.




Spellbook - Mounts and Companion Pets
The Mounts & Companion Pets are now in the spellbook with a brand new interface.



Tol Barad
Tol Barad is open for testing, this is a new outdoor/PvP zone with a daily quest area for the faction controlling it. More on that later.





310% Speed Flying Mount
The new 310% Speed Flying Mount skill costs 5000 gold to train. People who already own a 310% flying mount get it for free.



Relic Slots Items
All classes items in the relic slot now have stats.



Masteries and Armor Specialization
Masteries and Armor Specializations are now available for testing.



Holy Power
The interface for the new Holy Power resource is here.



Video Settings
The Video Settings menu has been expanded, looks like we'll be able to tweak more things in Cataclysm.



Creature Damage Output Changes

Creature damage output has been increased from roughly level 65 and up. These increases scale upward with level. Creatures in exterior zones at level 80 now have 2.5 times the damage output they did previously in beta, 3.2 times at level 81, and 4 times at level 82 and up.

We’d like to get your feedback about how combat feels with creatures in level 80-85 exterior zones, including spawn rates and numbers of creatures in specific locations in each zone. Please let us know if this feels adequately challenging, or if there is a little too much face rocking going on.

    Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but looking at the spellbook change for Mounts and Pets does that mean we'll be able to use the Qiraji battle tanks out of AQ now?

    The dps increase for the cataclasm mobs seems a bit overdone atm, getting 6k autohitted with 1 sec atkspeed with a ret pally and 20k casts in my face by caster mobs

    Boub, I got a crazy conspiracy theory to run by you. Tell me your thoughts, or any thing in beta files you noticed

    This may be all bunk, but I read a interesting post in the beta forums.

    Look for a post called "Dalaran grounded...?" by Kyrack

    In it a beta tester discovered odd text in a new quest regarding Dalaran. In it the quest giver you save, mentions heading to Dalaran to to get it flying again. Now folks that know Wow lore, Dalaran never flew till LK. I maybe misreading into it as well, but I thought it was rather odd they made new loading screens for both LK and BC, both intailing the main ending characters. Bolvar looks mighty frustrated, and it been thought a couple times, (plus the clip from Yogg vision) that Ner zhul isn't gone.

    Now my crazy theory is this, what if there are effects of Cata on outlands and Northend? An I can think of one major reason Blizz would do this, there places in both of the expanisions that ALL wow players would still use even after Cata comes out; the portal hubs. They stated there is no set hub in Cata, and wow players to get around speedy would still have our hearth set to Dal, for portal access alone. What if something happens in Cata to Dalaran, makes it crash, damages it, but doesn't destroy it (maybe taking out the portals....) Perhaps a new level 85 raid in both areas. Got to admit it not a bad idea, given a crazy crazy theory. Does any tester have any thing to support this??? I need to ask a data miner if any LK or BC files have been changed.....


    Dark Phoenix mount makes a little more sense with a new outlands raid.... just saying
    and yes my walls are covered with pictures of wow, with yarn and thumb tacks linking them.

    update: ugh Dark Phoenix is a guild vendor item, I need to read....

    The guild vendor stuff looks AWESOME!

    The loading screens look awesome too, good to see Maiev/Tyrande/Sylvanas on some loading screens!

    Not sure about the dude (no clue who he is) at the northrend loading screen but he looks not-so-good.

    Because a guaranteed stacking strength buff is so "fun"?

    once again blizzard fail ive been trying to get the ashes of alar for as long as i can remember then blizz go and give everyone who joins a guild a chance to have a phoenix mount can blizz not leave ashes as the only phoenix mount in game but i have to admit i am suprised the dark phoenix isnt for sale on the blizzard store

    Holy Power looks pretty sweet, a little bit of the old rune ui in there.

    And lol @me, I was wrong about the 310 cost, 5k is still reasonable, considering you can do it for free over a year.
