World of Warcraft: 30 dollars
The Burning Crusade: 20 dollars
Wrath of the Lich King: 20 dollars
A bottle of Jergins while watching the Cata CGI intro: Priceless
for all those that didnt notice, between 2:05 and 2:20, thats stormwind deathwing sits on, when the statue falls over, it actually falls over the wrong way i believe, i think in cata its in the water to the right of where it was.
I'm sorry but imo, the Wrath one is just better, it is not overstated and shouty, it builds up to a moment using brilliant music and a superb message about what it is to be a leader, showing the Lich King's power whilst still identifying him as a person.
This is a brilliant cinematic however, the graphics are amazing and the scenes are done brilliantly; yet as someone has said it is a tad generic as is to be expected with dragons in general. Nevertheless it is still an amazing into to Cataclysm and certainly does the job of the cinematic, to show us the power of our ultimate enemy, in this case it is rather spectacular.
Auberdine! In fact, every single landmark he destroyed in this cinematic was Alliance. Only things he broke of the horde's were some zepplins and a couple of outpost towers.
Ooooooonly thing I thought of after watching this for the 5th time over that they could have done to make it better, is to do with how he explodes into the world. Rather than just a big plume of fire coming from the mountain as he broke free of Deepholme, I was expecting the entire mountain to explode, and from the molten debris there be this one white hot meteor flying directly skyward breaking sound barriers as it went...finally doubling over itself for the strafing run across Auberdine, then you realise, it was Deathwing.
This cinematic intro.....is badass. I'll even say it's better than the WotLK one because all Lichy did was summon a dragon. This had Deathwing destroy foundations and earth just by shaking, roaring and flying over it!
Enjoyed the trailer, but I would have liked it more if they'd gone with a different voice actor. As much as I like Chris Metzen, his voice is waaaay over-used. The rendered graphics seemed slightly less in quality compared to the trailer for WotLK.
