Hearthstone - WoW TCG Game Announced
Blizzard just announced Hearthstone, the online Free to Play WoW CCG Game! More details to come. You can start talking about it in our new Hearthstone forum!

  • Free to play online collectible card game.
  • Opt in to beta in your Battle.net account management!
  • Beta begins this summer, with release this year.
  • Playable on PC, Mac, and iPad.
  • The game will be easy to pick up, but have a good amount of depth and complexity.
  • The board is 3D, with lots of animations to make gameplay more exciting.
  • There will be over 300 cards with the initial launch
  • You can purchase more card packs for roughly $1 per five cards, or slowly earn them through gameplay.
  • There will be Basic and Expert cards, with Expert cards being broken down into categories like Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
  • You’re guaranteed to receive at least one card of rare or better quality per pack.
  • Each card in the pack also has a chance to upgrade to a “Golden” version of the same card.
  • Disenchant cards that you don't want to receive dust, which is used to craft new cards.
  • There is a deck builder, which can build decks for you, or you can build your own.
  • The game will be a 1v1 game using Battle.net matchmaking.
  • Playing will allow you to earn medals every week.
  • You can also play against AI at different levels of difficulty.
  • Any purchases you made during the beta will be credited back to you in the form of new, unopened card packs at launch.

    It would be much more of a win, if the game would be implemented within wow as a minigame.

    its clear android would be supported later...i just hope they do it for windows phones too... all games on it are currently so crap TT

    also i doubt anyone would want to download 10s of Gb worth of data to play a trial version of wow to play it for free..

    Yeah, gonna have to agree. I'm usually not one to bash on Blizzard, but this is really uninteresting. It seems like they've realized their game card idea was bad so they made it digital in an attempt to "relaunch" the whole card game idea.

    Uninteresting, dull, uninventive.

    This isn't what Blizzard wants, this is what Activision wants. They see the Freemium market and they want in on it.

    When waiting to hear about announcements i normally A- Have already see spoilers for it B- i had to clue

    So ill be going with B atm and for someone like me who has a small passion for WoWtcg this looks to be a promising game.

    When it comes to haters, don't hate until you try it out. Otherwise you're just a hippocratic bashing a tablet game.

    I'm actually excited about, reminds me of the good old days back when I played Pokemon, Yugioh, and Magic. As for it being "overhyped" I agree with the previous posters, it's only overhyped if you took their press release as a "big" announcement. They said it would be small, and with a 15-man development team I'd say that fits the bill.

    you know what I think? I think this looks pretty amazing. I remember back in the days playing Yu-Gi-Oh with my friends. It was such a great time. Really can't wait to get my hands on this.

    Lot of enraged people. I wasn't really expecting anything that will change the fate of gaming or anything. So it's a card game big whoop. It will not hurt your guys egos.

    I hate these kind of games.
    it makes sense for Blizzard though to test the waters of F2P and casual tablet gaming.

    It certainly looks lilke it will be of typical high Blizzard quality.

    I understand that people feel it's a big disappointment, since people expected something big (as in Titan, or a new expansion). But honestly, this looks pretty awesome! The game they showed on the stream looked fun, so I'll be sure to try it.
    Also, to the people who didn't watch, it was said that it's completely Free to Play, but that people who spend money on it will get cards faster, that's it. No unfair advantages since in the end, it doesn't matter wether you spend money on it or not, you can still play on the same level as others (think LoL, it's pretty much the same F2P model).

    Great job, Blizzard. I'm looking forward to this.

    I was kinda expecting more info on allstars but this is cool aswell, don't get all the hate as it was clear it wouldn't be a big thing and I'll probably try it out as it's free to play and I like card games.
