Hearthstone - WoW TCG Game Announced
Blizzard just announced Hearthstone, the online Free to Play WoW CCG Game! More details to come. You can start talking about it in our new Hearthstone forum!

  • Free to play online collectible card game.
  • Opt in to beta in your Battle.net account management!
  • Beta begins this summer, with release this year.
  • Playable on PC, Mac, and iPad.
  • The game will be easy to pick up, but have a good amount of depth and complexity.
  • The board is 3D, with lots of animations to make gameplay more exciting.
  • There will be over 300 cards with the initial launch
  • You can purchase more card packs for roughly $1 per five cards, or slowly earn them through gameplay.
  • There will be Basic and Expert cards, with Expert cards being broken down into categories like Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
  • You’re guaranteed to receive at least one card of rare or better quality per pack.
  • Each card in the pack also has a chance to upgrade to a “Golden” version of the same card.
  • Disenchant cards that you don't want to receive dust, which is used to craft new cards.
  • There is a deck builder, which can build decks for you, or you can build your own.
  • The game will be a 1v1 game using Battle.net matchmaking.
  • Playing will allow you to earn medals every week.
  • You can also play against AI at different levels of difficulty.
  • Any purchases you made during the beta will be credited back to you in the form of new, unopened card packs at launch.

    What did people expect them to announce? They specifically said it's something small they've been working on the side. If you don't want to play don't play.

    By that definition, League of Legends is pay to win, Dota is pay to win and Team Fortress 2 is pay to win.
    Rather, every single game that have two currencies would be considered Pay to win.

    In any case, this game actually looks fun.
    I've spent a lot of time playing Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, WoW TCG and Pokemon, so this is a typical game that will appeal to me.

    This looks kind of cool, people were actually expecting them to be announcing some huge new game, and are now taking out their annoyance on this, rather than blaming their own hyped up speculation eh? Who would have seen that one coming a mile off...

    There was a lot of hate over the pet battles, and now it's actually a pretty popular feature. People should at least give this a chance.

    Did people really expect this to be some great project like Titan?

    So what if Blizzard makes a card game? If you don't like it, don't purchase it. I'm sure there are people out there who'll enjoy it.

    Good lord, some people are so self-entitled. "Wah! Blizz made a game I'm not interested in!"

    Blizzard STILL copying the living crap out of Everquest!!! this is HILARIOUS lol.

    Everquest has a game called LEGENDS OF NORRATH.

    Now WoW has a game called HEROES OF WARCRAFT

    What an absolute joke.

    I didn't know Everquest invented the word "of".

    Shouldn't it be called Legends of Azeroth for it to be a copy? Or is the other game also called Heroes of Everquest?

    Dang I was hoping for Blizzard Allstars.... Oh well I might try it but this didn't seem worth the hype Blizz put into it.
