There's some heinously miserable people who post here, and their only objective is to spit venom at anything Blizzard produces in order to satisfy some misguided personal angst in their life. I liked WoD and look forward to the next expansion.

He is 1 of those people that will gladly pay $50 every year instead of every 2 years for the same amount of content.

Well, I posted my prediction in one of the conspiracy threads so I am ready to quote myself once the expansion is released!

I honestly don't know what other story they could go with other than a Burning Legion theme or Aszhara/N'zoth theme. Unless they just pull a MoP on the community again and just announce some random story line.

Sad thing is, this is about as close to a confirmation that there won't be a 6.3. Hope everyones ready for 1 major content patch expansions from now on cause blizzard won't suddenly start making more stuff for expansions if they can get away with such little content.

They aren't waiting for blizzcon to announce the xpac... curious... or is it!? Are they losing so many subs right now that they decided to announce the next xpac earlier than blizzcon!?

Considering WoD still feels unfinished...news is meh. 5 level Cata expansion felt fuller than WoD. Not really looking forward to the next when still feeling ripped off with the current. The content...in the content patches...have been a joke.

Well either they actually delivers on the "faster xpac" promise they have given for several years. Or they realised they messed up with WoD and decided to speed up the work with next xpac and be quickly done with WoD.

OR they have realised they can actually create xpacs with little content to previous ones, make shitton of money and still have a decent playerbase.

Are people getting their hopes up that this means a new expansion before christmas...? 1 year from last patch release ain't in December.

And I have a "noble idea" (?) for you, stop doing shit yourself before asking others to.

I'm not "crying" myself, happily waiting for them to activate flight in Draenor so that I can have use of it for a while at least while playing my alts and finishing some world achievements. Can fully understand why some people are tired of waiting though and anxious that they might stall it somehow.

Possibly. However, the next xpac better offer up some incredible stuff, otherwise, my account will stay canceled. Hopefully they learned their lesson with WoD. Ugh.

How about: FIXING THIS EXPANSION BEFORE TALKING ABOUT THE NEXT ONE??????

Too many people hyped about this for all the wrong reasons, and I cringe reading some of the theories people have.

Regardless, I'm pumped. I'm extremely curious to see what content they have waiting for us. WoD was a bit of a let down, but if it was as much of one as people are claiming it was I wouldn't still be playing. c:

Actual playable (by your character) content?

How can they fix it...? Patch 6.2 was the final patch, what exactly is it they could do to "fix" things?

I don't understand how people are coming to some of these conclusions. This announcement is not related to dropping subs or because other games are taking center stage. This is part of the planned, scheduled release cycle for World of Warcraft. They had said previously they knew what the next few expansions were going to be. Their team has never been larger. Couple those comments with the fact that they seem incapable of changing anything in WoD mid-stream seems to clearly indicate that the code is frozen and dead. They can change the color of the curtains, but no manager is going to authorize development time on the shipped and dead content.

They want a yearly release cycle. They are not going to make monumental changes anymore. Everything will be incremental. They will announce the xpac at Gamescomm, they will show the trailer at Blizzcon and we will have it in December. They don't need a half a year testing cycle. WoD was cut short so content from this craptastic expansion could be integrated into the next.

This isn't a reaction to anything, this is all planned. WoW will be front and center as it always has and on that opening day of Blizzcon as we are all gathered around our virtual ticket or MMO Champion, they will release the trailer and do the standard fair of presentations on what is coming in <next xpac abbreviation here>.

They are going to nickel and dime everyone from this point forward. A new box under the tree every holiday and a monthly sub. It is what they wish they could do with Madden or CoD.

Didn't you see how screwed up Chilton was when he went on that press tour before the launch of WoD. They will keep making expansions as long as people keep playing. They are going to see how the market responds. I hope they respond very negatively.

Hehe yeah they really need to bring out something pretty awesome at this point.. I of course HOPE they do that, but my gut feeling tells me that they sadly wont.

Regardless, I will level my main character to max level in the next xpac. Thats a given. What happens after that is unknown. If its anything like WoD at max level, i'll probably quit early.

    Indeed.

I want to forget QUICKLY what it was like to micro-manage a garrison and sending followers out on missions instead of doing them myself.

Maybe in the new expac, our characters can travel back in time to stop Blizz from making WoD!
