They are. This is the first of many animated shorts to come.
Shorts and a full animated series are not the same thing.
Activision Blizzard Studios is currently developing a CGI television series based on Skylanders that's set to debut sometime this summer.

The internet isn't tailored to suit your specific tastes. If you don't want to read something, don't fucking read it. Nobody's got a gun to your head.
The CGI on this is vastly superior to the CGI that we have seen on the Warcraft movie. I really wish that Blizzard had created the Warcraft movie in the same way as this was created.
But Blizzard isn't creating the live action movie, that's where most people are mistaken.

You know that people can like more than one thing right? We have that capacity.
And anyway, why'd you even click? Just so we can hear you complain? Do us a favor next time...

Small team department on CGI vs entire companies for CGI... It takes Blizz almost a year to make their cinematics, and those are only a few minutes long.
It was executed well, but I can't really say I got anymore of Winston's character outside of the "Scientist Gorilla" that we already knew, which the visual design has already implied. Even the backstory flashbacks were pretty "Thin" in what it added. the only characterizing and humor to be found in it was when he spoke with his computer
The message was a little halfassed, unfortunately.
Voice of Reason: "If you do this action, all of you will be prosecuted."
Voice of Purpose: "See the world as you think it should be."
Winston: "I'll do something illegal because it's what I want!"
Overwatch - Recall .. Almost a global copy of "Beast" from the X-men even the same type of glasses .. A blue beast.. how "refreshing" . the clip itself is awesome and the story too , nothing wrong with that.
Loved it. Great quality animation and I like the characters and world building. Can't wait till the other shorts are released.
Also, as others have already said, Blizzard needs to make an animated series for one of their games. Overwatch seems like a perfect candidate.
It's great idea, but I don't think animation technology is up to making a series at this level of quality in a timely fashion, yet. So a series wouldn't be of this quality animation - and it's the quality of the animation that gives it half it's charm.

Plenty of heroes are the people that do illegal stuff when the people making laws aren't right or fair.
Of course, history is written by the victors and when things go wrong, those heroes become criminals. Which they are, technically.
In any case, it's a videogame set in the future with talking gorillas and robot monks, don't overthink it too much.
I'm stupid... based on the title of the thread I was thinking that Overwatch was recalled... like... there was lead based paint involved or something...
