Patch 7.3 - Battle Pets
Patch 7.3 adds Environeer Bert, a new trainer in Gnomeregan, as well as numerous new Battle Pets available for collection!

  • Patch 7.3 is introducing a new scaling tech which is being tested on Crysa and Environeer Bert. If you fight them with low level pets, they will be scaled to match your highest level pet.
  • If you can't decide which pet to summon, don't worry! A new "Summon Random Favorite Battle Pet" is being added, allowing you to set your favorites and let the game decide which one will accompany you.

If you needed an excuse to run the Cataclysm raids, here it is! Collect all the pets listed below to earn the achievement.

Amalgam of Destruction is awarded for completing this achievement.

    I... I am actually, seriously tempted to revisit Cataclysm instances and get the achievement for that pet.

    Is the Amalgam a new model or just a shrunk version of one of those guys from the Spine of Deathwing encounter?

    The vast majority of battle pets are just shrunken versions of larger creatures, I wouldn't expect the artists to be spending their time creating unique models for hundreds of pets every expansion. Doesn't make it any less cool to have one of these little guys though.

    Guess its time for me to learn how to do that bloody spine solo....I hate that damn fight.....just can't seem to get it right soloing it....

    Land, kill two tentacles. Afk in one of the sticky puddles the tentacles leave behind until you have 9+ bloods. Wait for a flip. Run into the middle, kill the bloods, kill a tentacle, drag the amalgamation over them, drag it to the plate, kill it, kill tendon, repeat. Imagine his back like two halves of a basketball court, with the center line being the ridge of his back. Just don't stay on one side of the ridge for more than 5 seconds whenever you're not in the sticky puddle.

    Join me in my prayers so Madness get adjusted to be less a PITA to solo :} (No roll if alone? Something else ? )

    Anyway, good reason to go back and try to finally get that blazing drake !

    Just when I was finished with Cata raids for mounts, they suck me back in with battle pets...I both love and hate you Blizz, keep treating me like this and I WILL file for divorce!

    What about fixing Dragon Soul LFR so you actually get loot like the other LFR's introduced later instead of adding Battle Pets.
    For years people asked for it, yet they ignore it. "But let's add some pets so people can revisit old stuff".

    Don't have to flip it anymore. Just kill 3 tentacles at the start. Kill off 2 adds then keep the other alive. Rinse and repeat for each back plate that comes off. Also you can't just sit in mid anymore. Have to keep weaving between left and right.

    Well, you lose some of your max health when you kill one of the adds on heroic mode, so I prefer to let him roll them off. Kill three to open more holes for blood to come out, and stand in one of them. The blood adds don't get flipped off, so you can sit in the hole the tentacle adds leave and it'll root you, and just relax until you have all nine bloods up. Then kill a tentacle to spawn an add, feed it the blood, and blow it up. A lot easier than spending the entire fight dancing left and right the entire time.

    Get Invincible. I'M DONE! Oh wait, they added a music scroll.

    Get music scroll. I'M DONE! Oh wait, they added the Wardrobe system.

    Glad I waited before going to farm mogs, because now they've gone and added pets to ICC as well.

    I actually have all the wrath based pets, needed them to get that super cute celestial bunny. (which I only got a week or two ago cos that fight was hard af for me :P )

    They're not gonna stop sending us back now are they though? Every second expansion I foresee them sending us to the last raids for pets...and I will love and loathe every second of it!

    At least I'll get them in my game-long quest to eventually fill out the wardrobe @.@
