Now, the dark prophet has turned on King Rastakhan and would see a true troll empire rule the world once again, even if it means submitting to the blood god: G'huun.

  • Overview - Zul begins the encounter assisted by the Forces of Blood. He will continue to summon additional Forces of Blood that the party must contend with while his energy fills. At 40% health, Zul no longer summons the Forces of Blood and becomes fully empowered with the Blood of G'huun, unleashing Locus of Corruption, spending his Elder Blood to afflict the raid with Corrupted Blood for the remainder of the encounter. Players must defeat him before the damage from Corrupted Blood overwhelms them.
    • Tanks -
      • Nazmani Crushers use Thrumming Pulse when their energy is full. Make sure they are not within range of their allies!
      • Avoid melee attacks from Bloodthirsty Crawgs or use defensive abilities to reduce their healing from Hungering Maw.
      • Rupturing Blood will create a large area of Ruptured Blood when it wears off - make sure you are far away from other players!
    • Healers -
    • Damage Dealers -
  • Stage One: The Forces of Blood - Zul summons the Forces of Blood to defend him as he gradually builds energy over the course of Stage One.
    • Pool of Darkness - Creates a Pool of Darkness at a location for 20 sec. Periodically, the Pool of Darkness will explode in Erupting Darkness, unless a player is standing inside of it.
Players standing in a Pool of Darkness are afflicted with Absorbed in Darkness.
    • Dark Revelation - Unleashes a Dark Revelation after 10 sec, dealing 75 Shadow damage to all players. This damage decreases with distance from the affected player. Additionally, a Minion of Zul is created near the player's location.
      • Minion of Zul - Minions of Zul fixate on players and cannot be tanked.
        • Unleashed Shadow - When killed, Minions of Zul inflict 15 Shadow damage to their killer every 2 sec. for 10 sec. This effect stacks.
        • Bound by Shadow - Absorbs 230 damage and increases damage done by 50%. Kills the target when removed.
        • Pit of Despair - When a Minion of Zul reaches its target, it causes a wave of terror, making players within 5 yards run in fear for 12 sec.
    • Shadow Barrage - Inflicts 20 Shadow damage to a random player.
    • Call of Blood - Zul forms allies out of the blood he has been gifted by G'huun, summoning the Forces of Blood.
    • Forces of Blood -
      • Blood Recall - When killed, the Forces of Blood will regenerate after a short period unless afflicted by Decaying Flesh.
      • Decaying Flesh - The instability of G'huun's blood magic suppresses Blood Recall for 10 sec, allowing the afflicted creature to be killed without regenerating. When removed, will jump to another creature of a different type.
      • Nazmani Crusher -
        • Bloody Cleave - Inflicts 0 Physical damage in a cone in front of the caster.
        • Thrumming Pulse - Increases the damage done by Zul and his minions within 0 yards by 50% for 40 sec. This effect stacks.
      • Nazmani Bloodhexer -
        • Congeal Blood - Congeals the ambient blood of G'huun into an Animated Ichor at the Bloodhexer's location.
          • Animated Ichor - Animated Ichors attempt to move to Zul. Upon reaching Zul, they will cast Ichor Transfusion.
            • Dripping Blood - Animated Ichor loses 1% health every 0.5 sec.
            • Ichor Transfusion - Transfers all of the Animated Ichor's current health to Zul, and instantly kills the Animated Ichor.
        • Bloodshard - Inflicts 37 Shadow damage to the lowest health player.
        • Sanguine Presence - If two Nazmani Bloodhexers come within 20 yards of each other, their Sanguine Presence will burst, healing all enemies for 10% every 2 sec.
      • Bloodthirsty Crawg -
        • Hungering Maw - Whenever a Bloodthirsty Crawg deals damage, they heal for 200% of the damage dealt.
        • Engorged Burst - The Crawg ruptures, killing it and inflicting 50 Shadow damage to all players every 2 sec. for 10 sec.
  • Stage Two: Zul, Awakened - At 40% health, Zul unleashes the energy built over Stage One by casting Locus of Corruption.
    • Locus of Corruption - Zul consumes all of his energy, applying one stack of Corrupted Blood to all players per 5 energy consumed.
      • Corrupted Blood - Inflicts 0 Shadow damage every 2 sec. This effect stacks and lasts until the end of the encounter.
    • Rupturing Blood - Afflicts targets in a cone in front of Zul with Rupturing Blood, dealing 18 Physical damage every 2 sec. for 20 sec, and creating a pool of Ruptured Blood upon expiration.
      This effect stacks.
      • Ruptured Blood - Creates a large pool of blood that periodically applies Corrupted Blood to any players inside it.
        • Corrupted Blood - Inflicts 0 Shadow damage every 2 sec. This effect stacks and lasts until the end of the encounter.
    • Deathwish - Fills a player with a Deathwish, causing them to walk towards the edge of the arena and jump off the platform to their death upon reaching it.
When the player jumps, or when Deathwish is dispelled, Deathwish inflicts 35 Shadow damage to all players. This damage is reduced by range. In addition, several Minions of Zul are created.

Faction Leader Promos
Blizzard tweeted a couple promos for Battle for Azeroth that feature the faction leaders.

Mob Scaling Changes

I love all the hemming and hawing and hand-wringing and fancy explanations for the old content overbuff--and then subsequent scaling back, scaling back, using the same method they said they couldn't just use before.

    Proves:
    1) They could scale back the mobs, they just didn't want to
    2) Overwhelming negative feedback, which was there when changes were announced (and for 7.3.5 too!) and they ignored because it didn't fit "the team's" goals.
1 - They never said they "can't" just scale the numbers. They said they don't want to since there is an UNDERLYING issue with the scaling tech. Since they can't find it, they scaled the numbers down. When they fix it, they will scale them back (but you won't even notice since the issue will be fixed)

2 - The leveling experience is currently same as 7.3.5 bar the 80-90 bracket, which was nerfed, since it was actually slower then 90-100.

That hotfix was put in 2 days ago and there are still some mobs that are just completely jacked up with their scaling. I’ve been just plugging along and randomly start getting trucked when I walk into a new questing area. In at least once instance a family member had done the same area earlier at a different level without experiencing my issues. They came over and watched confirming the mobs were definitely hitting way harder. The scaling is a good addition to the game, but it’s not working right yet that’s for sure.

I see absolutely no change after the hotfix. Sounds like a joke to buy them some time.

Well the ingame Anduin looks like he is in his mid-late twenties, when he should look like he is 18. He does in the cinematic.
He actually looks like a young Brad Pitt and it fits him perfectly imo.

Make sure to report the mobs and your level whenever you encounter this. The hotfix is just a bandaid while they investigate the issue, as they haven't been able to determine where the root cause is yet. There is apparently some unidentified or undocumented variable that they failed to find or account for when implementing the squish.

What is this? The alliance faction leader is HEAL SPEC!

Man.. those numbers on the raid gear. /sigh like what is the point of telling us item squish item squish smaller numbers so you can read? First Raid tanks back to 2M HP - and by 2nd Raid +1000 stats again... It just feels like reaching a goal of 100k HP meant something as a tank back in the day. Reaching that crit block chance meant something on your character, and it made a difference.

1: orcs are the main face of the horde
2: vanilla, tbc, wrath, mists and legion had next to nothing to do with orcs. And cata is an exception since thrall was the main hero there.
3: Legion was all about elves and draenei, and the final patch had no horde characters involved in the attack on argus.

So check your facts next time.

TBC had 3 dungeons full of orcs, Wrath had an entire zone of Trolls, Mists had SIEGE OF ORGRIMMAR and Throne of Thunder. I mean I don't have an issue with a troll raid here, but it is a pretty common foe we face.

Ohh really? They NEED to know it beforehand? I'm sure there are a lot of people who like to go in fresh and learn fights on their own. Well, people of quality does. The rest of the crowd just wants instant gratification and experience no challenge if possible. When you're late in an expansion and join something as a tank, well, then i somewhat agree that it's a shitty thing to go in new and clueless, but when it's new content then it's fun to learn together. Try it for a change.

What are you on about? The top guilds already learned those strats in beta.

Well, if Anduin is based on BP, then Sylvanas is definitely based on this beauty:

Why would it need a warning? Blizz literally put his existence as a boss into in-game guides months before Uldir even opens.

Yup, I can see why they’re having trouble pinpointing it too. It’s so ridiculously random.

In theory the HP was reduced, but we would still see the old HP, like it was a glitch. A mob would display having 4k HP, but would in theory have something like 3.7k, and dealing 3.7k damage should kill it. However, I've been checking my logs for every creature I kill, and the damage I dealt always matched the HP displayed. It's not an UI/unit frames issue.

Cinematic Anduin is awesome. He hasn't been a whiny child since the beginning of Legion. It wasn't Genn's choice at Broken Shore. He offered Varian a hand to hoist him back up on the ship, but Varian gave him a message for Anduin instead and chose to sacrifice himself. I have never understood the thought that Genn is awful for hating Sylvanas while everyone forgets she killed his son. Of course he hates her. Wouldn't you in his place?

Heh, ok. There are guilds out there that go in blind, but that is definitely the minority. Most raiders will prepare beforehand, and a lot of raiding guilds will require that you do so. Sorry that's not to your liking, but that's how the game is. I'm glad you were able to find a group of like-minded individuals.
Also note that I never said anything about going in blind being a bad thing. You're the one coming in with the rude remarks.
