Patch 8.2 PTR - Conflict and Strife PvP Talent Essence
The latest PTR update added a new essence, Conflict and Strife, to the repertoire of options currently in the patch. However, this one is a little more interesting as its major slot allows a specific predetermined talent from your spec's PvP talent pool to be used in PvE content at all times. Here is a list of what each class and spec gets from this trait.

      • Demonic Origins - The cooldown of Metamorphosis is reduced by 2 min, but now lasts 15 sec.

      • Moonkin Aura - Starsurge grants 4% spell critical strike chance to 8 allies within 40 yards for 18 sec, stacking up to 3 times.
    • Feral
      • Leader of the Pack - While in Cat Form, you increase the melee and ranged critical chance of raid members within 40 yards by 5%. Leader of the Pack also causes affected targets to heal themselves for 4% of their maximum health when they critically hit with a melee or ranged attack. The healing effect cannot occur more than once every 6 sec.
    • Guardian
      • Sharpened Claws - Maul increases the damage done by your Swipe and Thrash by 25% for 6 sec.
    • Restoration
      • Overgrowth - Instantly applies Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Wild Growth, and Regrowth's heal over time effect to the target.

    • Beast Mastery
      • Survival Tactics - Feign Death removes all harmful magical effects, and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 sec.
    • Marksmanship
      • Survival Tactics - Feign Death removes all harmful magical effects, and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 sec.
    • Survival
      • Survival Tactics - Feign Death removes all harmful magical effects, and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 sec.
  • Mage (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Arcane
      • Arcane Empowerment - Clearcasting can now stack 2 additional times, and increases the damage of Arcane Missiles by 5% per stack. Clearcasting no longer reduces the mana cost of Arcane Explosion.
    • Fire
      • Flamecannon - After standing still in combat for 2 sec, your maximum health increases by 3%, damage done increases by 3%, and range of your Fire spells increase by 3 yards. This effect stacks up to 5 times and lasts for 5 sec.
    • Frost
      • Concentrated Coolness - Frozen Orb's damage is increased by 10% and is now castable at a location with a 40 yard range but no longer moves.

    • Brewmaster
      • Hot Trub - Purifying Brew deals 30% of your purified staggered damage to all enemies within 10 yards.
    • Mistweaver
      • Way of the Crane - Increases your Physical damage by 25%, you remove and become immune to all snare and root effects and you heal up to 3 nearest allies for 150% of all damage done. Lasts 15 sec.
    • Windwalker
      • Reverse Harm - Heals a friendly target for 8% of their maximum health, and causes 100% of the amount healed to instantly be dealt to the nearest enemy as Nature damage within 5 yards. Generates 2 Chi.
  • Paladin (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Holy
      • Divine Favor - Your next Holy Light or Flash of Light is increased by 100%, costs no mana and is unable to be interrupted.
    • Protection
      • Steed of Glory - Your Divine Steed lasts for an additional 2 sec. While active you become immune to movement impairing effects, and you knock back enemies that you move through.
    • Retribution
      • Unbound Freedom - Blessing of Freedom also increases movement speed by 30%.
  • Priest (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Discipline
      • Premonition - Heals nearby targets within 20 yards for [ 75% of Spell Power ], and applies Atonement to yourself. Deals [ PS * BC1 ] Shadow damage to yourself for each Atonement you have active, and increases their duration by [ 5 + 0.1% of Spell Power ] sec.
    • Holy
      • Rapid Mending - Prayer of Mending is now instant cast, and its jump range is increased by 10 yards.
    • Shadow

    • Assassination
      • Smoke Bomb - Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud.
    • Outlaw
      • Smoke Bomb - Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud.
    • Subtlety
      • Smoke Bomb - Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud.
  • Shaman (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Elemental
      • Lightning Lasso - Grips the target in lightning, stunning the target and dealing O2% of the target's maximum health in Nature damage over 5 sec. Can move while channeling.
    • Enhancement
      • Ride the Lightning - If there are more than 2 enemies within 8 yards when you cast Stormstrike, you also cast a Chain Lightning on the target, dealing [ 50% of Spell Power ] Nature damage. Otherwise, you conjure bolts of lightning to up to 2 furthest enemies within 40 yards dealing [ 50% of Spell Power ] Nature damage.
    • Restoration
      • Ancestral Gift - You become immune to Silence and Interrupt effects for 5 sec after using Spiritwalker's Grace.
  • Warlock (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Affliction
      • Endless Affliction - Your Unstable Affliction deals the same damage as normal, but its duration is increased by 6 sec.
    • Demonology
      • Nether Ward - Surrounds the caster with a shield that lasts 3 sec, reflecting all harmful spells cast on you.
    • Destruction
      • Demon Armor - Protects the caster, increasing maximum health by 10% and increases armor by 150%.
  • Warrior (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator)
    • Arms
      • Sharpen Blade - When activated, your next Mortal Strike will deal 15% increased damage and reduce healing taken by 50% for 6 sec.
    • Fury
      • Battle Trance - You go into a trance causing you to regenerate 3% of your health and generate 5 Rage every 3 sec for 18 sec after using Raging Blow twice in a row on a target. Using Raging Blow on a new target will cancel this effect.

    One example.

    Memory of Lucid Dreams
    Major Power (Instant, 3 min cooldown): Clear your mind and attune yourself with the Heart of Azeroth, increasing your Holy Power generation rate by 100%, and your Leech by 874, for 10 sec.

    Minor Power: Your spells and abilities have a chance to refund 50% of the Holy Power spent on them and immediately heal you for 10,860. When Lucid Dreams refunds some Holy Power to you, gain 543 Versatility for 8 sec.
    Vision of Perfection
    Major Power (Passive): Your spells and abillities have a chance to activate Crusade for 50% of its base cooldown. When the Vision of Perfection activates, the cooldown of Crusade is reduced by 10 sec.

    For 1.5 seconds? Grats, you immune a big ability and die to small ones, same as normal. It also requires the use of FD, so if timed wrong you can actually hurt a groups wipe recovery in a m+ or raid group.
    The point is it is so inconsequential it’s nearly pointless.
    PvP it can work because you can help keep yourself alive thru a Greater Pyro or something along those lines, but as it stands Blizz could give BM the Basilisk trait, MM could get Sniper Shot, where SV would literally get nothing for a damage increase (great design there by Blizzard btw), and I’m sure Ret has a damage increase.
    The FD is purely situational whereas the damage boosts are gauranteed gains.
    As someone else stated, all of these should be damage increases or mobility/survival increases.

    well, i never said that i was being forced to do it, but if you know anything about high-end raiding, you also know that whatever advantage you can get to help push progression (ie getting server first and shit), you will be expected to go and get that advantage (either by farming islands, pushing alts for split runs, etc). so when blizzard decided a pvp essence would be strong for pve, that kinda makes me mad cause i know my guild will expect me to go and farm that one

    yeah but you can get it from doing your average battleground. It's no challenge or anything.

    I am very happy with the Boomkin, Havoc Demon Hunter and Frost DK essences.

    Those are all my highest ilvl characters in game.

    If the mob exceeds the player hp, it will calculate the players hp instead.

    They are either going to change what one they get or they are going to make it 6% current HP.

    Haven’t even read them all but I see damage increase damage increase damage increase...damage increases for healers.
    I get to Hunters and I see “reduce damage by 99% for 1.5 seconds after using FD” for every spec. Ret Pally gets movement increase.
    Couldn’t they give these specs damage increase like everyone else.
    Reading more, Locks get messed up too unless you count them being able to stand in stuff while casting like they used to do.
    I mean, in all fairness, if there's ever a soak mechanic now hunters can do it better than rogues?

    it's not about the difficulty in getting the essence. is the fact that grinding content you have no interest in, just so you can use that in the content you actually are focusing on, is annoying. i don't want to do bgs (or rated bgs for that matter) so i can maximize my own utility in raids

    you might be ok with that, but i'm not. doesn't mean i won't do it, but i'll hold the grudge against blizzard for making this bad design choice (as will other players who do not want to do pvp in this game, but still want to be useful in their raid groups)

    it feels like they don't care about how balanced things are, as long as they get people to do all the content available in the game, whether they have fun in on those contents or not

    It turns out doing something based on that spec makes it spec specific. Some specs will get a lot more then others from increase cooldown uptime or more resources. The whole point is for people to use different essences some will use the new ones for PvP talents some will use the cooldown/resource ones because those are better for there class.

    It does the SAME thing for each class, each tank gets more leech, each healer gets mana regen. That's generic as it gets.

    Possibly, but how many of these have we seen this xpac? Rogues get several seconds of immunity where Hunters get 1.5 seconds. So on a fight like Jadefire and soaking flame patches, Rogues could use cloak and sprint over them without getting popped up. Hunters have turtle for this. A FD bonus would just drop the damage from the burst and require Disengage to land without dying and you only soak 1. So yeah, it could clear 1 every 30 seconds, but with a rotation of classes you will be more efficient just doing that with 3 players over the fight.
    The utility can be nice, but it’s just too situational.

    Not comply true pallys for example have there shield of the righteous recharged lowered. Then there’s thing like the dps effects where a pally gets holy Power which would change the way they play a lot more then say a mage getting mana.

    Just because they may be better for one over another doesn't make them any less generic
