The Eternal Palace Boss Guides » Abyssal Commander Sivara
Abyssal Commander Sivara is a boss encounter in The Eternal Palace raid in World of Warcraft. Our strategy guide will help you to defeat Abyssal Commander Sivara encounter and the loot listing below contains all of the loot he drops on each difficulty.
Overview
Abyssal Commander Sivara is the first encounter in the The Eternal Palace. It is a single phase encounter requiring two tanks and a balance of healers and DPS, depending on your raid size.
Fight Basics (Normal and Heroic)
- The raid will be evenly marked with Toxic Brand and Frost Mark.
- Both debuffs deal damage over time, while Frost slows movements speed and Toxic reduces healing taken. These effects stack.
- Players debuffs will periodically change when the boss casts Inversion.
- Avoid taking damage from damage sources that are the opposite of your current debuff.
- Taking damage from the opposite element or touching a player of the opposite debuff will trigger Unstable Mixture. Too many of these going off at once will wipe the raid.
- Spread out when Inversion is cast to avoid instantly triggering Unstable Mixture.
- When Crushing Reverberation is cast, players should stack with the targeted tank if they have the same debuff.
- When affected by Overflow drop your puddle on the edge of the encounter space that your raid designates for your debuff type (frost on one side, toxic on another).
- Watch around the boss when Overwhelming Barrage begins to cast, and move to the side of the boss that matches your current debuff, and dodge the bolts that are fired.
- On Heroic difficulty and above, the Toxic Brand and Frost Mark have additional effects.
- Players will have an alternate power bar that fills up based on their actions, and has a negative effect if it reaches 100%.
- Frost players will slowly fill their bar by standing still, they must stay mobile. If the bar fills, they will be frozen.
- Toxic players will slowly fill their bar by moving, they must stand still. If the bar fills, they will be disoriented.
- Additonally, on Heroic and above, when Inversion is cast, all puddles on the ground will become the opposite of what they previously were.
Strategies by Role
All Roles
- Ensure you can accurately and quickly identify what debuff you have.
- Be prepared to stack with the tank that matches your debuff during Crushing Reverberation.
- Spread out 5+ yards before Inversion is cast and stay spread out for a few seconds afterwards.
- Avoid taking damage from the opposite element as much as possible, unless intentionally doing so to reset your debuff stacks.
DPS
- Take talents and essences for Single Target damage.
- Only move as much as necessary to avoid damage of the opposite element, and drop your puddles off at the edge of the room.
- Healthstones and Health Potions are useful during Overwhelming Barrage and if affected by Overflow
Healers
- Overwhelming Barrage is potentially a high damage moment if many players fail to dodge bolts properly. Be prepared with cooldowns.
- Large external cooldowns can potentially keep the tank up with fewer soakers during Crushing Reverberation.
- A good mix of AoE healing and Single target focus on the tanks and Overflow targets is ideal.
Tanks
- Taunt swap at roughly 5 stacks to avoid taking too much damage from your respective DoT.
- After taunt swapping, your debuff will fall off and leave a puddle on the ground. Run out and drop it in a good location before it expires.
- The size of the puddle left behind increases based on how many stacks you had when it was created.
- Be ready with large personal cooldowns during Crushing Reverberation if there are not many soakers present.
