Classic Content Unlocking in December - Battlegrounds, Invasions

We’ve been following the deadly deeds of the Classic community closely over the last week as the Honor system sparked an impressive amount of World PvP on PvP realms, and we’re excited to see what might transpire over the next three weeks. Nonetheless, like many of you, we can’t wait to charge into some battlegrounds, so we’ve detached this content unlock from the plan we previously announced. Blackwing Lair and Darkmoon Faire are coming in early 2020.
We’ll have an exact timestamp for this content unlock to share with you in early December.

See you there!

I'm actually glad that they're choosing to separate some key content from the normal release schedule. I know that like me a lot of folks were disappointed that the honor system had released without any BGs to do, so I feel like this is a fair trade off. We get a few weeks of world pvp and then BGs. Good decision Blizz.

This is why I went PvE.

I think they should have seperated PvP content releases from PvE from the beginning. It made no sense to have PvPers wait for 2 bg's until the PvE crowd is done with the latest raid.

I'm actually happy. Even though I'm a vanilla purist. I'm playing a warrior and I'm getting wrecked every 10mins by alliance. I'm happy we got to experience the massive ganking eventhough im part of the victims lol and im happy we're getting BGs soon.
I hope everyone will hold on and won't quit the game until then lol.

If BWL releases in late January, we are on pace for Naxx to be out in late October.

1 year 2 months for classic.

Well, if they were only waiting til the latest raid was "done" we would have had BGs and BWL already.

Probably not, but sounds good honestly, just because Naxx is available doesn't mean people don't do MC.

Length of time really depends on what they do with ZG, but 5 months a raid tier is pretty good imo, announce TBC at next Blizzcon

this isnt 2005 anymore, where the top world guilds had clickers and keyboard turners, naxx will be cleared day 1 easily, and people just hiting 60 will proly just do zg/aq 20 for quick gear, maybe some aq40 for the rly decent gear, there wont be much reason to go mc

People will still want thunderfuries. It's not about how quick you clear things, people want BiS now, and TF is BiS through at least Kara.

Also, not every guild runs at 100000 mph, many are still just taking their time and will struggle with things like AQ40 and Naxx. MC is super easy, like even easier than when it was killed in 1.2, because it's 1.12. The difficulty will even out some by AQ, not saying it will be super hard or anything, but much more of an actual raid for most guilds.

WRONG...... Patch 1.12 buffed all classes and nerfed MC after MC had already been out. BWL ZG and Nax were not out and not nerfed so they will actually be somewhat tuff.

I still fail in understanding why they would release TBC. What’s the sense in going through all the previous exp again?

Classic should just stay Classic and gg.

The common wisdom is they'll release BC servers and let people migrate, so classic will still exist. As to your question of why, it has been very thoroughly answered by the wild success of classic itself: people want to play the good versions of wow before blizzard fucked it up in cata.

The large populations of people on TBC and Wrath private servers is testament to why. Many many people want to replay these versions.

I actually don't like Vanilla/Classic much, but I play it so it shows as successful so we get these other versions.

Yeah um no. They'll still get cleared easily.

You denialists need to accept that even without the 1.12 nerfs, this shit was never hard, and players are much better than they were in 2005. Plus a lot of private server guilds already cleared this crap under much tougher conditions, since it's widely accepted most private servers over-tuned PvE content.
