Shadowlands is nearly here, and you and your allies are needed back on the front lines. This weekend, we're giving all players with inactive World of Warcraft accounts full access to the game* and all of your characters without a subscription. You’ll be able to access all expansions including Battle for Azeroth, so you can play the most recent content and be ready for Shadowlands when it launches on November 23, 2020 at 3 p.m. PST. Rejoin your guild, rally your comrades, and prepare to brave the beyond.

Return to World of Warcraft FREE from November 5 to November 8.**


Get Back in Action

If you’re new to World of Warcraft or you’ve been away for a while, you can play through the new starting experience starting at level 1 to learn the ropes.

Players who have already experienced Battle for Azeroth and reached level 50 on at least one character can choose to level any subsequent characters in a different expansion using Timewalking Campaigns. This new feature makes it so content from locations like Northrend or Pandaria scales to a player’s level, so they can adventure from level 10 all the way to 50 and experience the stories in these areas at their originally intended pacing. Visit Chromie near the embassies in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to select your expansion leveling experience. If you'd like to select a different expansion to level through, simply speak to Chromie again.

    I could play for free yesterday evening, but this morning it does not work anymore. (at least Taesalach dropped)

    Best thing would be to ask a friend to borrow gold. Then buy a token spend that 30 days paying them back and making enough for next token. If you have Shadowlands it'll be easier at the start to make gold too.

    Odd. I haven't had any issues and currently on an account that was inactive. Which region are you three in? NA here. Might be a region issue?

    Not explicity a complain about the way it's bugged (as expected) but more for EU servers as a whole. Since the pre-patch, the servers have been very unstable. Constant problems, errors and disconnects. The latency the last couple of weeks shoots sometimes to the moon and the game became at some point literally unplayable duo to the lag and been unable to log in because of the unstability. I think it's UNACCEPTABLE how the state is right now. Once again the EU servers are bugged while the US are fine. We pay 13 euro's a month for a proper working game and I understand nothing is always flawless but this makes zero sense. The EU servers are plagued with issues and it seems like nothing is done to fix that.

    A good opportunity to scratch the itch after a year or so. Managed to play an hour before starting to feel the usual "hamster wheel" thing.

    Man does this game age badly, the animations look so stiff... YUCK!

    Everything does, to be honest. I still follow the news because.... Feelings. But every time I give it a try (once again) I can't get past 10-15 minutes of gameplay. People are praising the new starting zone and I feel lost: what does it make it so good? The game surely needs some decent updates.

    So? WoW runs on anything, the min req is for raiding Mythic at reasonable settings.

    To be fair, Shadowlands will bump up their MAU far, far more than this. People see sinister plots where there are none.

    I'm planning an emergency upgrade soon, but for now i'm playing Starcraft... Very slowly.
