Of course they have something new to announce. They wouldnt rush to do a Blizzcon in february if they didnt have a little something to give us. If it's not the case they would just wait until next november to do it.

The only thing I can see is that the rumors about TBC Classic are true and they want to make a big reveal before the launch of BETA in may. I cannot see the reason behind an entire event being only the next patch(9.1) or any recycle news about D4. So they will announce something for sure! My bet is TBC Classic for sure!

Agreed. At the very least Diablo will have loads of content. Plus TBC and 9.1 for WoW.

So Diablo Immortal is the big one this year :'D

More seriously TBC is a non event as we all know it's coming somehow. Slightly less impactfull than Classic imo. (Because we know the kind of playerbase Classic is in 2020 sadly. So we expect hell in TBC). How they do it is the interesting bit though.

I hope for a release date for Diablo 4 in 2022

I wonder how much they will avoid mentioning Warcaft 3 Reforged.

On the website as usual. And I would guess every content creator would stream live reacts. The Announcement Showcase was free to watch on three different plantforms and content creators still streamed it on their twitch channels. So I guess it will be more difficult to not watch it.

Wut? Only half an hour on "What's next" and "WoW Deep Dive"?

Sigh, where have the times gone when developers actually had something to say to the playerbase...

I'm looking at past Blizzcons and I'm not seeing a difference.

As long as there's TBC news I'll be happy.

They are avoiding it entirely since august, this game no longer exists in Activision Blizzard space.

So diablo 2 recycle and overwatch 2 is years away, diablo 3, starcraft 2 and heroes of the storm are dead. So is this just mostly going to be shadowlands patch content and diablo mobile? maybe something to try and stop hearthstone from haemorrhaging users?

I get the feeling even if corona didn't happen this year was going to be one of the duds.

Blizzard must be thankful its COVID, since they've got *nothing* aside from status updates on works in progress. WoW what's next -- some patch updates, too soon to announce an expansion. The inevitable TBC Classic announcement will be the highlight. Diablo will give us more detail, maybe some pre-alpha gameplay for Diablo 4. Overwatch 2...which is really Overwatch 1.5, will try to justify its cost and existence (and fail). Heathstone will have the next expansion announced, for the players who continue to go to the casino willfully ignoring the game is rigged.

At least they'll be able to advertise the 30th anniversary Blizzard digital cosmetics pack between every panel. So not a total loss for the shareholders.

Well dunno what you expected. There was never a year when all major franchises had something substantial to add. At the very least we can get a status update on everything that isn't Hots of Starcraft.

    HotS dead
    SC 2 dead
    WC3-Refunded dead on arrival
    Diablo 3 dead
    Overwatch half dead
    HS half dead
WoW half dead (or dead compared with its peak)

So... what can we expect from the first hour (opening) from the whole show? A lot of "we acheived blabla, we did blabla, we good blabla" a little bit of "it was a hard year blabla" and then try to make all their fails look good or try to make it look like those never happened.
Old Blizzard is officially dead, the day "Team 1" was disbanded.
WoW gets worse and worse because less and less people play the game and they get less ressources, well the designers still do a fricking awesome job but the gameplay devs are just bad and clearly dont care about the game. The most promising feature was Thorgast but they they decided to make changes which ruined it.

The best thing we can hope for Blizzard to announce is a release date for Diablo Immortal and them telling us that OW 2 is coming in summer 2022 in worst case we just get the Diablo Immortal announcement.... Blizzard quality 2021.

Last Blizzcons don't count, I'm talking 2009, 2010, 2012. These were epic panels, at least 1 hour long. And you could see they put work in their presenations. There were systems panels, class panels, lore panels, art panels. Good stuff. And the devs back then had a sense of humor and didn't take themselves too seriously. They had honest interactions with the community, not the scripted bs we get today.
To be honest, every Blizzcon after the WoD announcement was a letdown.

    Look at this for example
    2010 Quest & Lore Q&A
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7fVTabpyf8
(1 hour) with the legendary "Red Shirt Guy" at 24:35. Can you imagine a panel like this nowadays? The real shame is that Ion participated in these panels back in the day. He knows what is possible. He knows the players enjoyed these panels.

First off there is no 2012 Blizzcon. 2nd 2009 announced Cataclysm, a expansion that revamped WoW, while 2010 was right before it's release. Of course they're going to have more coverage for WoW.

There's also an whole hour of Q&A for WoW during the 2nd day of Blizzconline.

You're calling me ignorant yet think 2012 Blizzcon existed. You don't see the irony in that?

It's the internet bro. There are only two kinds of people. Those who think the way you do, and dumb people. And both sides feel the same way. And of course there are only two sides with no semblance of nuance or subtlety.
