It still astonishes me that people like the sequel better, Terminator was an awesome movie, and probably my favorite monster movie I've ever seen

How I adore that movie! It's unique in being one of the few modern(-ish) films which features an all male cast. And, as John Carpenter explains in talking about making the film, it really helps to keep the plot away from the typical and detrimental 'hero and heroine must both survive' stereotype which makes a lot of horror movies boring and predictable. It's just a great, sci-fi, action-horror spin on the classic 'murder mystery' archetype.
(It's also filled with awesome one-liners and bearded Kurt Russel in all his glory!)
    also a terrific movie

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and *maybe* Saving Private Ryan are about he only movies I would add....in fact, my list of 10/10 movies would be limited to just those 4 movies, and I've seen a lot of movies, but as far as perfection goes, that's it, in my book. Sure, there are a good handful of 9/10s or 8/10s, some of which have already been listed, but when I watch a 10/10 movie, it's pretty much like a ritual, I don't want to be disturbed while watching.

Especially with LoTR, the amount of sear awesomeness that went into the movies paid off, LoTR has far more put into each movie than any other movie ever made by a very large margain, and I'm not just talking about monies, as there are lots of expensive movies, but it's just all the behind the scenes efforts into making everything as beautiful as it appears on film.

One I really don't get is Titanic....Titanic is over-rated, it's a romance movie that takes *place* on the Titanic but the Titanic servers simply as a background to make it lots of money. Had the very same movie been filmed even on an identical but fictional shipwreck, no one would have given a shit and it wouldn't be 10/10 movie in a lot of people's minds.

I have added two films to my personal Great Films List.
“La Vita è Bella” and “The Deer Hunter”.
