This is a HUGE problem on PS2 because Devs refuse to give ground targets a weapon meant to actually DESTROY air. It's all 'deterrents' to make them run away and repair. Only air is allowed to really destroy air and a LOT of the playerbase is getting pissed over it.

That's fair imo. I haven't played PS2 but in Battlefield 3 it was the same way. The only way to take down air was to man up grow a pair of wings and take them down air to air. Ground units only served as area denial to air units. I very much liked it this way.

Yeah, that doesn't sound balanced at all. They should give them some Stinger missles or something. Ground HAS to have something to defeat air in any vehicular shooter, else it makes them defenceless.

Sure, you've got lock on rockets with the heavy class and flak cannons with the MAX (infantry tank-ish semi-class), but they won't be able to take it down alone.

Well they have lockon missiles. It's just their tracking is garbage and they move pitifully slow.

Bursters are great if you can survive long enough. And don't have some random stray infantry walk up and tear you to shreds. And turrets are WAY too weak against Libs.
