I suppose they have full right to run their game into the ground. Whoever put the pricing on this was in fact an idiot. It's not internally consistent. Some of these mounts are currently sold in game on the Rift store, for much cheaper. Others typically go for well under $40 worth of currency on the auction house.

They're not exclusive or new items.

No one's ripping anybody off. There is no publicity at all on the part of the devs. The bad publicity comes from people who don't even PLAY the game anymore. They are salty. Because seriously why do they even care?

You know that you will need to buy this box at least the exact number of times as the number of mounts in it (if you are lucky and get a new one each time) to get all of them.

Actually, the only people that would buy this are those that don't know what they're paying for. These aren't some super exclusive or rare mounts available only from this box. Most of them are very common, sell for under the equivalent of $30 worth of in game currency, or were even sold in the past for cheaper. Some go for under $10. They're all available in game for much less than $100. The only people that would buy this box are those that didn't read the label and assumed that since it's $100, it must contain all 42 mounts and not just one.

if you could buy one for 100$, you could sell it for 10m gold on EU at least, which in turn is like 37? months of gametime 37 months for 100$ thats under 3$ a month.

now you see why that mount is much much more than 100$.
