I live in a coastal town that exports a small amount of lobsters and next to a coastal town which exports a significant amount, they go straight from the docks to the restaurants or out to deliver. You'd be likely to get a mouthful of abuse or thrown in the sea if you tried to buy it direct from the fishermen here.

Sure its an exception, but really after any holiday and during some you can get lobster for the price of chop meat.
