From running for federal office anyways, but some states prohibit state office runs. Funny enough there are three Republican ex-cons running in 2018. http://theweek.com/speedreads/747610...g-major-office

Yeah, that commercial made me want to throw up, I can't stand people that cash in on their military service that hard. I also can't stand people that run on a platform of saving an obsolete platform, yet still claim to support our troops. Or turn a dumb military policy into a swipe at Islam. For the record, that policy really was insane, I saw the iteration where female Soldiers had to cover their hair offbase, never saw the robe version, I wonder if they were exaggerating it. I can't imagine why a fighter pilot would ever be in an area where the policy would apply.
Still not close to the worst candidate in this race though, Thanks Joe!
Does this feel just a little too familiar to anyone else? I mean elections have gotten more and more crazy, but each time it just gets more ridiculous, with over the top personalities that no human being should ever consider normal, constantly sabotaging each other, only to have it blow up in their own faces half the time, and all we seem to care about the whole time is just being entertained.
Honestly does anybody else feel like we're watching another brand new episode of Wacky Races?
You know when politicians start looking like caricatures that you'd see in a comedy movie, it is getting out of hand.
Wow...what a clusterfuck of bad choices. The sad part is one of them WILL get elected.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.
Is there any feasible way we can just give Arizona to Mexico? Would Mexico even take Arizona? Lie to me if you have to, I don't care.
If that happened, I imagine the Mexican President would say something along the lines of "When the U.S. sends its people over here, they're not sending their best. They're bringing Joe Arpaio. They're bringing Kelli Ward. They're bringing Martha McSally. They're racists......and some, I assume, are good people."
1 of those 4 mentioned very likely to win since no Democrat will. Yeah, yeah, Arizona was close last time for General Election but I do not see this being close unless the batshit Republicans choose one of the crazies in the Primaries.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!
how does delivering ordinance on shacks in the desert remotely qualify as combat?
I mean, I guess if you had engine failure and had to ditch you'd be in "combat" but no.
Arizona is one of the more likely places to flip. Granted they have a lot of crazies there, but there isn't actually a majority of them. Remember Arpaio got voted out of office. They also voted in John McCain and Jeff Flake, which just happened to be two of the loudest republican voices against Trump. Team Trump certainly wants to take Arizona, but it is far from certain they can actually do so.
My guess is this race will be decided by who can beat up the most reporters.
So they'll compete on who wants to rescind MLK Day the quickest?
Time to listen to Public Enemy's By The Time I Get To Arizona again.
The Democrat candidate sounds fairly moderate, couldn't find news if she'll have other challengers.
Democratic candidate, Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, is one of the more interesting characters in American politics. A native of Arizona and raised as a Mormon, she lived for a time as a child in an abandoned gas station in Florida with no running water or electricity when her mom and stepfather ran into financial hardship. She graduated from Brigham Young University at the age of 18 in 1995, left the church, and then worked on Ralph Nader’s presidential campaign in 2000 and ran for Arizona state legislature in 2002 as a Green Party candidate.
Two years later, she got elected to the state House of Representatives as a Democrat, and in 2010 she won election to the Arizona state Senate. During her time in the legislature, the ex-Green remade herself as a business-friendly moderate, and she won a close race for an open US House seat in 2012.
I wonder if the Bernouts or Steiners will get behind her or call her out for being a neo-liberal shill.
I'd like to imagine this conversation going something like this.
America: Hey Mexico, we would like to return Arizona to you for free.
Mexico: I got all my own shit to deal with and now you want to throw that at me, forget that I don't need any extra shit.
Just watched that ad for McSally. Wow.
Like really? It's like they wanted to take a swipe at Muslims and liberals, so they just drummed up the whole "military hero" image
