With the next movie focusing on the Saiyans, we can presume that the U6 Saiyans will be heavily featured in it along with the U7 Saiyans. Which probably means that, at the very least, the U6 Saiyans will be ressed at the end of the arc.

There's a timeskip after Buu's defeat. Can't remember how many years it is (7 or something?) but the ending scene shows Goku going off with Uub to train him. Everyone's alive in it and Trunks/Goten and the others have become older too.

Isn't the new movie about the original Super Saiyan God? It shouldn't have anything to do with U6 or even the current time.

A lot of the animators for the show will be working on the movie, it's a lot to ask of them to work on the show every week and work on the movie. Plus, a hiatus gives the manga time to catch up and for Toriyama/Toyotaro to plan out future storylines. As much as it sucks for DB Super to be going away for the rest of the year, I think it's a good move on their part and gives everyone working on the show some time to relax.

I can foresee Super, or whatever form it may be in the future, to go with seasonal releases if this is just a hiatus. The weekly anime release doesn't seem too feasible unless you're one of those 400+ chapter mangas being adapted.
