That shouldn't be surprising to anyone though. Anime isn't some kind of native Japanese art form, it was something that developed in the post war era when they tried to imitate Western animation styles, and it should be obvious to anyone watching that most of the characters are supposed to be white, or at the very least the image that the Japanese have of white people.

Cartoons can have adult themes without needing to go to blood, sex and violence you know. It depends on how it is written. You know...words...which can be interrupted differently by different age groups.
