Even back in the 2000's this would still be something that would ruin a career, but nowadays it's nothing more than white noise.

    Oh yeah, more damning evidence.

President Trump is accused of paying $130,000 in hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels to hide an affair a month before the election. In what is probably just a coincidence, the Trump campaign transferred $130K to the Trump businesses a month after the election. https://t.co/KKknIC9ClC

This would be crushing for any other President, yet Trumpkins will brush it off.

And to think this took place only twelve years ago, we need to go deeper.

I think he is arguing that Trump should be impeached.

Excellent. And a violation of the law might remove the NDA.

On a completely unrelated note, did you see that the First Lady declined to visit her husband on their anniversary? Only the best marriages.

The media have slit their own throats with Trump. They go after him too hard. When everything Trump says or does makes him literally Hitler and they make a big song and dance about it then no one pays attention. When we get another outlandish story from 'some one close to Trump' or 'a high ranking republican' or 'someone from the White House' people just roll their eyes at this point. I think the only thing that has a lower approval rating than Trump is the media.

Should the media stop reportng on the lies and actions of the Trump administration?

The only thing that really surprises me about this is that Trump apparently actually ponied up the cash.

That is what they should be reporting on. When they waste time on gifs and memes or whatever unsubstantiated nonsense yet another anonymous person supposedly overheard Trump say people will just gloss over actually shit Trump does.

No, he actually does tons of vile shit. You're the one that's in irreality.

Are you reading what you're posting before you click? Because the media is reporting on the lies and actions of the administration. They aren't reporting on memes and gifs - what the fuck does that even mean?

Yeah then they frame that story in-between two ridonculous stories that only this forum and CNN would believe. Like you say he does penty of shit and if they concentrated on actually malfeasance more people may care.

Here's the problem, he does tons of ridiculous shit. The real issue is that no amount of reporting is actually going to change the minds of a lot of people. The guy was accused of sexual assault (something he previously admitted to) and peaking in on underage girls (also something he claimed he did, although he swore it was only adults), and people still supported him, and ignored the media. The media reacted by trying to prove everything, ignoring the overwhelming cognitive dissonance of his supporters. We are watching Idiocracy turn into a play-by-play documentary in real time.

The media can't possibly to anything right in the eyes of tens of millions of Americans. Those people have allowed trump to control the message, and either believe it fully, or just want to shitpost their credibility away. The media is being mocked for trying to overcompensate for the absurd amount of false information spread by Trump and his moronic followers.

They didn't care, that's the point. No amount of negative information matters when the target audience is willfully ignorant. You can't do other people's thinking for them, no matter how hard the media tried.

And your entire point is evidence of a broader problem - people won't change their minds, despite tons of evidence. It's how Moore still got 48% of the vote in AL - a pedophile for fuck's sake. People want something to be true, and they glam onto whatever they can to make it so.

The GOP's assault on facts and science might be the end of all of us.

Lol, ok - you're right, but somehow you can't prove it? Lovely.

Are you perhaps talking about the gif trump tweeted? The hillary/trump one, where he body slammed her, figuratively, in a WWE ring?

I've been saying for two years now tat Idiocracy has become a documentary. I have seen so many intelligent people (or people whom I believed to be intelligent) turn into ignorant, gullible drones. I will fully agree that the majority of it comes from the "conservative" side, but liberals also need to pull their heads out of their asses.
