i think you are confusing "not blindly racist against people you have no reason to hate" with "moron"

Moron in the sense that he was way too idealistic, an idealism influenced by his lack of actual responsibilities on his shoulders. It doesn't take a genius to see how leadership is changing Anduin even though the core characterization is still the same.

Baine was the same but he became a leader way too soon. Anduin had the chance to grow before such burden feel on his shoulders.

I chose to take that as a sign that they are waiting for the day that they make Gnolls playable.

I hope they'll eventually update centaurs aswell, eventually. I know it's a small chance of ever happening, but imo those guys deserve it.
