Sure, don't recall hearing any stories about warning shots hitting a person though. Are you imagining them shooting straight up in the air? Chances of that hitting someone are lower than the jackpot hitting my ticket.

It's literally said on our national law enforcement's website. Firearms are a last resort but it's not uncommon for them to fire a warning shot.
If you want numbers:
158 shots fired, of which 70 were warning shots, in 2014. Less than 61 times where they had to fire directly at a person.

It's not like you could do your own research, if you actually cared about other perspectives than the one you've been indoctrinated with you'd at-least have taken a look before pointing out how insane people are in other parts of the world for doing things differently.
