For Trump this might actually be good, because there's nothing he can really do about it.....well except "grieve" and go golfing to "cope" like @Ransath said. As much as the shooting was terrible unfortunately Trump really can't do much about it, but not going golfing was certainly the better answer rather than actually golfing like he fucking did.

Signing the bill to help the mentally ill own assault rifles the day before wasn't great PR, either. If he'd gone golfing that day, maybe when the WH says "Trump is ready to move on gun control" they'd have some credibility.

Yea, it definitely inspires the question. I was actually just discussing that with my father.

And yea, it is bad when you call a mass shooting a reprieve. It's even worse when they're right. Or at least they were right until Trump decided to piss off the kids who lived through it.

He signed that bill a year ago.

And there's much more nuance to it. The ACLU states it well:

"But gun control laws, like any law, should be fair, effective and not based on prejudice or stereotype. This rule met none of those criteria.

The thousands of Americans whose disability benefits are managed by someone else range from young people with depression and financial inexperience to older adults with Down syndrome needing help with a limited budget. But no data — none — show that these individuals have a propensity for violence in general or gun violence in particular.

To the contrary, studies show that people with mental disabilities are less likely to commit firearm crimes than to be the victims of violence by others."

I will take "Worst things you could possibly do after a Tragedy for 400, Alec".

Between this, blaming the FBI for it, going golfing on his trip to console the victims, and of course the spectacularly bad optics of loosening restrictions on mentally challenged people owning weapons right before (Which obviously had nothing to do with it, but it doesn't look good). This has to be one of the worst choreographed responses to a tragedy in a long time. By which I mean at least since last week.

It is worth noting that Buchanan was truly a horrible president. But his worst crime was doing nothing at a time the country desperately needed him to be doing something. However he was elected specifically because he would do nothing, because nobody was willing to elect someone that would address the problem (Until they did, when they elected Lincoln, and we know how that went down). So Buchanan, like Trump, was horrible, but everybody knew he would be horrible when they elected him, and the specific reason he was horrible was WHY they elected him.

Trump is almost certainly worse, but I agree with Buchanan being next.

In the ongoing effort to prove they have divested, Trump Jr. heads to India for a Trump business trip, during which he will give an official foreign policy speech with the Prime Minister of India.

“Trump is here — Are You Invited?” the headline of one ad reads, before offering home buyers the opportunity to pay about $38,000 to “join Mr. Donald Trump Jr. for a conversation and dinner.”
You only have to give $38,000 to Trump businesses to speak with his son. Why not buy a condo from the son of the President while you ask him about international relations, and how they can benefit you?

In a story that's completely unrelated, Mueller is taking a good, hard look at Kushner looking to make a profit from foreigners while working at the White House, specifically by advertising the Trump name while trying to sell real estate to China. I know that's been brought up before, not sure why I felt the need to re-mention it just now...hmm.

In the ongoing attempt to undo Trump's tweets with things like "logic" and "evidence", Paul Ryan and the GOP admit they won't do anything about DACA by March 5th, Trump's unilaterally-imposed deadline. "March 23rd, when the budget is due again, looks good," Paul Ryan said, "maybe we'll trade protecting the DREAMers like we said we would for, I dunno, cutting costs on some social programs and being fiscally responsi--"

A "Three Blind Mice" ringtone went off in Ryan's pocket. He glanced at a message, sighed, and replaced his phone. "What I Meant Was, we'll be spending it on the military. We're losing at the Olympics and Trump is pounding every red button in the room. So, expect 15 Big Macs to show up in the next few minutes, and Gen. Kelly will be covered in confetti."

Have you noticed Trump supporters face discrimination, sometimes from family and friends? I heard a lot of people don't want to date Trump supporters. Why is this OK?

Because people have the right to not want to be friends with/go out with morons and assholes?

It's an easy way to filter out a very specific mindset.

Yeah, we should judge people on their looks and skin color, not their character........

    That's not "discrimination".

Your words and actions are the exact thing you SHOULD be judged for.
