For Trump this might actually be good, because there's nothing he can really do about it.....well except "grieve" and go golfing to "cope" like @Ransath said. As much as the shooting was terrible unfortunately Trump really can't do much about it, but not going golfing was certainly the better answer rather than actually golfing like he fucking did.

Signing the bill to help the mentally ill own assault rifles the day before wasn't great PR, either. If he'd gone golfing that day, maybe when the WH says "Trump is ready to move on gun control" they'd have some credibility.

Yea, it definitely inspires the question. I was actually just discussing that with my father.

And yea, it is bad when you call a mass shooting a reprieve. It's even worse when they're right. Or at least they were right until Trump decided to piss off the kids who lived through it.

He signed that bill a year ago.

And there's much more nuance to it. The ACLU states it well:

I will take "Worst things you could possibly do after a Tragedy for 400, Alec".

Between this, blaming the FBI for it, going golfing on his trip to console the victims, and of course the spectacularly bad optics of loosening restrictions on mentally challenged people owning weapons right before (Which obviously had nothing to do with it, but it doesn't look good). This has to be one of the worst choreographed responses to a tragedy in a long time. By which I mean at least since last week.

Not surprising that Trump's the worst on that list. Hell he should be in last place with about 13 places opened above him and then finally the closest to last after that would finally appear.

It is worth noting that Buchanan was truly a horrible president. But his worst crime was doing nothing at a time the country desperately needed him to be doing something. However he was elected specifically because he would do nothing, because nobody was willing to elect someone that would address the problem (Until they did, when they elected Lincoln, and we know how that went down). So Buchanan, like Trump, was horrible, but everybody knew he would be horrible when they elected him, and the specific reason he was horrible was WHY they elected him.

Trump is almost certainly worse, but I agree with Buchanan being next.

The funniest part about this, which I'm expecting Trumpers to ignore, is that when they break down the rankings by Democrat/Independent/Republican scholars, the Republican scholars still put Trump at an abysmal 40th place.

Conservative historians think he's a total failure.

You only have to give $38,000 to Trump businesses to speak with his son. Why not buy a condo from the son of the President while you ask him about international relations, and how they can benefit you?

In a story that's completely unrelated, Mueller is taking a good, hard look at Kushner looking to make a profit from foreigners while working at the White House, specifically by advertising the Trump name while trying to sell real estate to China. I know that's been brought up before, not sure why I felt the need to re-mention it just now...hmm.
