    Exactly.

The advertisement isn't meant to be a documentary OP - just an advert.

I mean - do you really think that Red Bull gives you wings

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

Unfortunately for you, the number one rule in the advertising industry is that sex and controversy sells. Be it positive or negative.

    Tried and tested formula.

Well, I have Sirius Radio and when listening to a "classic" channel, their tag line was "playing hits from the cassette era". My son looked at me and asked what a cassette was....

One could argue that maybe the word computer might become an outdated term, and tablet, or "AI name", or something like that takes over, like VCR/Casette to the modern versions. But this does seem too ahead of it's time; everyone uses computer and can't really imagine it going away.

Desktops, maybe (though they'll always have a place because there will always be people buying high end gaming rigs). Bu what exactly is a tablet good for that a laptop or large smartphone won't do as well or better? They're functionally worse than laptops - touchscreens are never as good as a screen and physical keyboard if the latter is an option - and unlike a phone which can go in your pocket, they're not really any more portable. They're better for sitting in bed watching netflix, and they have some specialist applications like drawing/art apps, but for the average user (particularly anyone interested in games), a phone and a laptop alone will cover all your bases, and a phone and a tablet will not.

You could just read up on the effectiveness of controversial advertising.

The rule of thumb is that, as long as it's not overtly in bad taste and too far from is socially and legally acceptable, controversial advertising for the shock value is very effective.

But now you know about it. So are the millions of people talking about how silly it is or otherwise. Looks like the ad worked way better than one of other boring conventional ones that nobody ever bothers with more a passing glance.

Agree with the first sentence. Disagree with the second.

If an ad just inspires me to mock it, I don't think the ad achieved what it was hoping to achieve. I'm not going out to buy anything Apple because of a commercial that I find irritating.

Yeah I think Apple and their core products are effectively household terms at this point. I mean news segments are run when new iPhones come out.

    Tablets? Whatever happened to those?
They seemed like the future 8 years ago, yet I rarely see anyone using them anymore.

Kinda funny too, some people even claimed back then that it would kill the laptop

I can't see the PC market dying as long as tablets continue to be as underpowered as they are. I don't relaly understand how tablets especially Ipads are taking off. The settings are so locked down you need to jailbreak it just to do basic things that a PC does out of the box.

Yeah, it's a stupid ad that is trying so hard to come across as bleeding edge that it trips over reality.
