How do you crush something you have not yet competed against.....?

Texas: 1 million voted in the primary.

That's the highest Democratic turnout for a midterm in 16 years

Republicans got 1.5 million votes — a slight tick up from the last election cycle

So there was a massive blue wave, and next to nothing in the republican camp.

Sure sounds like there was actually a blue wave.

Big primary turnout is not a blue wave. This is Texas. It would take a big Roy Moore scandal or several more years of left-leaning immigration into the state to flip it.

Yep, and people are hung up on the state wide senate vote.

I don't think anyone expects to flip Texas yet. While Cruz is a terrible human being... it's Texas and he isn't uniquely terrible like the child predator slavery loving Moore.

We are going to see some seats flip in this wave. The question is How many.

Its actually a lot sooner than people realize where Texas is looking Purple. Remember Texas (rightfully so) wants to still a be a world leader when it comes to energy but to do that they needed to diversify and embrace other sources of energy. Ironically this new renewable energy industry is ripe with liberals. The research triangle would make San Francisco blush for how Liberal the area is. Added in the legal Hispanic immigrants in the south and the Reaganites slowly dying off its making it seem Texas could start looking purple even as soon as 2024.

Great... now I got Hunter Thompson stuck in my head.

We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave.… So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Texas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

Four more years of current trends could be enough. That's about what I meant by several more years of immigration i.e. don't expect anybody's rosy talk about a "blue wave" to matter in this election or next.

Well, no, you cannot make that call. Based on their data, there was a 5% chance for Trump to win, which he did.

This is completely different than Trump claiming that the elections are rigged against him, due to the establishment.

The guy who chanted lock her up, but has done nothing about it. A guy who is actively trying to silence a porn star, because of the affair he had with her. This is the man who you trust...

All of these are slanderous accusations made by an incometent baboon like Trump, to vote for him. That’s why you have so much trouble saying what you support about him, other than watching these evil liberals cry. You voted for a man who owns business all over the world, as America First... you trust a man who ran as a blue collar billionaire... A NYC oligarch, who knows the plight of middle America.

Even when Trump claims to go after gun ownership, without due process and blames video games for mass shootings, you will still blame liberals.

Even Trump was saying the elections were rigged... its a bullshit argument. Before the election few of the supporters would deny Trump was one of the two worst candidates to run for office. But, for some reason, once he became the worst candidate to win an election, evidance of why he was considered one of the two worst candidates is a machinations of MSM.

How is the chance irrelevant, when you were proposing that the chance was higher and the media was lying? How is the subject of your argument irrelevant?

    That doesn't even make sense.

I'm aware, but I'm trying to get @BuckSparkles to actually support his argument instead of engaging in hit-and-run rhetoric.

The upshot of it all is that we'll have to wait until November to see what happens.

Ted Cruz calls out challenger Beto O’Rourke in a sign of a tough fight to come in Texas

I concede that Cruz is still the favorite...but if he wins then it will likely be close. And those voters that typically vote Republican, if they are that unhappy with Cruz, but won't vote Democrat, they may just end up staying home.

    Not going to happen.

Why would he care about trying to argue when he's just going to get hit with a deluge of reality that he isn't going to believe or care about when he can just drop little snippets to annoy people?
