Karl Gerat self propelled cannon. Several of them were made, some were captured by US and USSR during WW2. But US scrapped theirs, USSR kept one as a souvenir.

If I were to visit Russia I would rather go see far eastern part of the country full of nature and whatnot.

I'd say go for it, it's not like we're assassinating tourists or something.

Keep in mind though that you'll most likely need an interpreter and/or a local guide to have a better experience since outside of big cities most people still don't speak English well enough, if at all. It would also help to avoid scams.
