Oh and as for WoW ending. I think it should have with legion. Where we LOSE to Sargeras then flee to AU draenor and then get either a WC4 with us retaking azeroth(and then rebooting it via uldums reorigination machine) thus leading to WoW 2 where the factions are gone one character can have all skills(or classes but prefer build your own class style myseld)and we get cosmetic weapons and gear based on oir WoW achievements as a kind of heirloom.
Alternatively it goes straight to WoW 2 with the base game being us retaking azeroth and then resetting it. Que expansion(or all part of one) and bronze dragons let us choose to revisit broken demon azeroth. New characters can choose where to start.
Go from here.
Now bear in mind this would be a wild untamed azeroth and maybe one with more old god influence. We would be explorers again helping to scout out new lands, rediscover old areas help rebuild. And what about the AU draenor many likely grew up on. I bet they wpuld want to return.
Could offer ALOT hell maybe it would even bring back the original continent of kalimdor.
It would literally be a whole new world with those with druidic training likely knowing it best. Hell mnaybe it would even reverse the curse of flesh or make iron Vrykul and Earthen more common
Azeroth may be damaged but it won't be overtaken. That said, any time of Sundering or Catalcysm is still possible in it's history.

Theory - next expansion is the final sundering of azeroth, the planet explodes and a corrupted dark titan is released, remnants of azeroth become floating chunks like outland and we flee to another planet.

Also nothing stopping another continent growing out of the sea... just sayin
The "Chronicle" series defines the *now* of the Warcraft universe - but it is open to further revelation, re-contextualization, and even soft retcons. This is exemplified in the realization that the Pantheon did not die at Nihilam as stated in "Chronicle Vol. 1" but rather lost their physical vessels but had their essence preserved for later torture within the depths of Antorus. This is a re-contextualization of the events related by "Chronicle Vol. 1" as opposed to a full retcon, as it were; but it gives one an idea that the "Chronicle" is not necessarily set in stone as incontrovertible fact. The "Chronicle" series creates a more solid framework for the greater narrative in terms of reference, but it is open to both reinterpretation and possible alteration by future events (discounting for the moment the notion that effective time travel has an uneasy existence in the Warcraft universe).
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
