USA: Schoolchildren More Likely To Die Than Service Members (2018)

2018 has been deadlier for schoolchildren than service members

The school shooting near Houston on Friday bolstered a stunning statistic: More people have been killed at schools this year than have been killed while serving in the military.

Initial estimates put the number killed at Santa Fe High School at eight. (The death toll has since risen to 10.) We can compare that to figures for the military compiled from Defense Department news releases, including both combat and noncombat deaths. Even excluding non-students who died in school shootings (for example, teachers) the total still exceeds military casualties.

    Brave people.

Cherrypicking data at its worst, it's not even a year of data, it's just 5 months.

So the moral of the story is... Drop out of school and join the military.

Not only that, but he did not list the other reasons for student deaths. Which would far out number the death's from shootings.

Yo Einstein. It is not cherry picking anything when the damn headline says 2018.

Doesn't matter what the reasons were, when non combat deaths for the military are also included.

Sure it matters. The military personnel now are not wrapped up in a heavy combat zone and they wear body armor. Compare the two if we had another Vietnam disaster happening. Also, look at how many soldiers died during the decade after we invaded Iraq. Over 9,000 I think. Now compare that to the number of school shootings. :P

Dude, you act like a smart one, so I will ask you something that should be easy for a smart person - pick up at least couple (the more the better!) of random 5-month data span from the past 20 years related to this topic and compare it to this 'thing' you just posted. I'm sure such a smart person like yourself can easily make a simple graph in excel or google charts and post it here? Or will you just try to avoid supporting your own claims?

Another Einstein we have here. lmao

The point of the article is that so far in 2018, it is more dangerous to be a student than a member of the military.

You're not getting the point. Your statement above is actually MORE supportive of the article.

Exactly. And he more than likely won't see the fallacy in the logic of his argument.

And? Keep laughing your ass off until you make logical sense. Better stop and take a deep breath however. This is nothing more than a liberal left fear mongering example and cherry picking to the extreme. :P

You might've been sarcastic, but in case you weren't, it's still 100% cherrypicking, just a very proactive one - you analize ONLY recent data (because it fits your agenda) before normal flow of time brings more data that invalidates recent data.

Meanwhile, real science analizes data over longer time spans, not just lol-last-5-months.

Sorry Trumpette. Your attempted deflection has failed. Anyone with common sense can see what the contents of the article mean.

Fact: Thus far in 2018, more kids have died at school than members of the military while in service. Take your failass Trumpette rhetoric somewhere else. That shit ain't flying here.

There is no agenda here. You are simply typical of a certain demographic that always wants to claim "false news", "cherry-picking", and "leaks!".

So, in the end you won't even make even a simple graph to compare? You just quote external sources that support your viewpoint? Why won't you support your own viewpoint with your own effort, small as it would be?
