If you wash away all the bullshittery (and giving a broad definition of bullshit, I thought the PK was 50/50 and the Griezmann free kick definitely a foul), the score was still 2-1 France.

(and no, Deschamps is only the 3rd, the BBC commentators couldn't shut up about it. Don't know who the other 2 were though.)

It was very close. Hands/arms don't count for offsides according to FIFA rules.

Man, there's a lot of things I remember from France '98, but Didier Deschamps being French captain was not one of them.
He was captain for the final only I believe. Laurent Blanc (original French captain) was red carded in their semifinal against Croatia when Bilic pretended to have been punched in the face.

Okay, Blanc I definitely remember. No wonder I didn't remember Deschamps being captain.

Yup, you're right. Not sure why I remember Blanc as the captain...

Indeed all looking at the entire tournament France was well deserved of the gold.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

    Grats to France, well deserved.

It's been a pleasure, see you at the next world cup in two years.

I just started back watching football after years away.

How about Mbappe? Kid is 19 and has a plethora of awards to his name already. Hell, dude scored and won a world cup at 19. At 19 I was missing my parents and fiance when I left for University. He has a lot of potential to be one of the best the game's ever seen, in my opinion.

    Man this thread is carnage.

France are worthy winners, they're not a 'great' team like the 98 winners but they're certainly the best of the current top teams.

Ahem. Props to Croatia, I think they made a game of it despite the score. France got lucky, but they were also ruthlessly opportunistic and that won them the game. It's still gonna be a party when I see the French branch of my family in a few days.
