Eh, seems to be derivative of Princess Millhiore from Dog Days. I know that's what I immediately thought upon first seeing Pyra's character design. If someone is being ripped off, it's Osamu Sakata.

At least it IS the better Moka. Though I would go with what seems to be the popular opinion and say that Kurumu and Mizore are better.

So, I wasn't expecting Sweetness and Lightning to be a cooking show. Between Koizumi and Restaurant to Another World, I have yet to really enjoy one. This one seems to do well with putting good characters in it at least. Kotori is definitely the hero, despite her eyes making her always look angry. That said, I didn't love it. The episodes felt really formulaic, and got repetitive pretty easily. There doesn't appear to be any character development at all, despite great potential for things like Kotori getting over her fear, Kouhei branching out and doing more things with Mugi (I know she isn't ever called that, but I'm gonna). Plus, while Mitsuboshi Colors (which I mention because this show was recommended to me after I watched that) had young girls that were genuinely funny, Tsumugi just felt like a very young kid. I was less amused by her, or didn't find her as endearing as others might. The show as a whole was rarely funny, and never more than a chuckle. I gave it a 6/10, because it did things well, even if those things weren't terribly entertaining.

I'm 75% done with Spice and Wolf, only five episodes of season 2 left and I'll be done.

Amarti should've won! Lawrence clearly needs a woman of refined taste like Chloe, someone he can settle down with and isn't dragging him through the mud at every other turn. Lawrence has reached middle age and clearly doesn't want to waste anymore time trying to escort this rambunctious and ungrateful woman when he has a shop and family to build. Holo would've had the time of her life with Amarti, would've done anything to entertain her.

Except no. Holo was trying to prove to Lawrence that she wasn't dead weight to him. She teases him because she likes him. If Holo would've brought Lawrence in on her scheme, it would have defeated the purpose of showing him that she was capable of playing the merchant game as well. She wanted Lawrence to see her as his equal, which says a lot considering she's basically a goddess and he's a human. This is all ignoring the fact that Amarti only saw Holo as something he didn't have and wanted to acquire. And if you think Lawrence doesn't want Holo around anymore, you're not paying attention. Lawrence's whole motivation during that arc was trying to win against Amarti; he wanted to win his big investment, and more importantly, he wanted to win Holo back.

Honestly dude, I think you missed the entire point of the arc. Yes, it was the weakest of the anime arcs, but it's not hard to understand what was going on. Try the English dub with English subs next time.

Seems that US Netflix only has a dub option for Mary and the Witch's Flower. I'm too lazy to look up the VAs on my phone, anyone know if these are actual British VAs?

ReLIFE - 9/10

There's something to be said for a show that after two episodes, has me coming up with theories and predictions, and wanting to keep watching to find out. And since I'm usually a guy who shuts all that crap off and just enjoys the ride, I'm glad that I actually was right about some of it. This show does a good job of mixing up the serious and the not-so-serious. Chizuru especially was hilarious most times she talked, intentionally or not. Definitely the best character. I laughed more in this show than I did in some actual comedies. That's what happens when you make great characters first, and not try to just make jokes slapped onto people I care zero about. But even if a lot of what goes on is typical high school drama, it's written very well, which makes sense when you have an older main character effectively posing as one of them. Don't know why I hesitated to watch this, I would recommend it to anyone into the genres.

Been binging Hunter x Hunter on Crunchyroll, subbed. I'm enjoying Hunter x Hunter right now, but so far I'm not seeing the greatness everyone proclaims it to be. Yes, I know that the best part of the show is the Chimera Ant arc, which is a long ways off. Still, I'd say that a mark of a "great" show is one that is consistently great from the beginning, not one that uses setup to eventually become great. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is an example of a show that was bloody fantastic from the beginning, even before the "payoff" or "the plot" began, and only got better and better as the show went on. Still, Hunter x Hunter is so far miles better than any currently airing shounen anime besides My Hero Academia, which has its own problems (but is still very good).

EDIT: Okay, I've reached episode 21, and I can now confidently say this is going on my favorite shounen series list. I didn't realize how much I loved this series until I saw the clock and realized that it was 1:30 in the morning and I had just watched ten episodes in a single sitting. Gon IS THE MAN! Kurapika is the best big bro one could ask for! Go Leorio! Hisoka is a very intriguing character. Mr. Satotz is great. The soundtrack is amazing! Did I mention that Gon IS THE MAN!? Is faith in himself is absolutely astounding. What kind of man would willingly walk in to a trap while being bitten and strangled by dozens of cobras to search a dead man's body for the antidote, when he could just wait a day for rescue? Put your hands down Midoriya, Gon is the REAL absolute madman!
