The Soviets used to give them money, it was legal to do so back then.

What ruined them was when Khrushchev denounced Stalin and revealed all of Stalin's crimes against humanity and his own people, membership plummeted after that.

I think the CPUSA is still around but they don't have many members now.

Because most of them moved from JV up to Varsity (the DNC).

There is one definition of a socialist: support for direct worker control of the means of production.

Neither Corbyn or Sanders have come close to suggesting anything like that.

A very significant portion of Venezuala's economy is still privately owned and the vast majority is state owned which I would argue is not worker control it's state control of industry.

England largely in terms of history focuses either inward on things like the tudors, war of the roses, Henry the VIIIth and so on and outside really just go all in on WW2 and "those german fucks bombed us day and night but in the end we beat em with good old british stubbornness and gumption". Communism was always tangentially treated as "something that sounds like a good theory but in practice only leads to suffering because you can't expect mammals to behave like an ant hill" really.

Though nowadays you do get criticisms that some college level teachers basically try to brainwash students into some idea that communism is this trendy path to utopia which to folks i know from places like venezuela is disgusting to them.

Thats because Jeremy and Berny are fucking retarded. They have no idea what they are saying or endorsing . And while its true that a large part Venezuelan economy is privately owned the state dictates where those good get send.

I mean a lot of people were murdered in the name of Christianity but nobody gets offended over crosses.

It's kind of debateable how much of the horrors inflicted by Stalin had anything to do with Communism and how much was just Stalin, who was an utterly ruthless tyrant.

Communism is supposed to do away with things like tyrants, but of course, it always seemed very naive to me...

Pretty much every government employs "some socialist policies", depending how you define that.

The nazi's where not economically socialist. They where however culturally socialist. That makes them an odd case.

Comparing communism with nazism clearly displays two things.
    1) You don't know anything about communism, nothing, zero, no clue.
    2) You are just a right wing prick trying to promote its agenda.

If you apply communism correctly then you will have a prosperous society without inequalities, you will literally take a step forward as a humanity.
If you apply nazism correctly then you will still have the atrocities you already know and denying.

I'm not gonna argue communism and socialism in a far-right-shithole like MMO off-topic but just saying

Thats true, but Nazi-Germany and Facist-Italy both had more socialists policies than more capitalist countries at the time. Even though most people focus on Facisms general rejection of Communism, it was at an equal foot rejecting capitalism.
