The American Communist Party was founded in 1919 or so. It was instrumental in creating labor unions for one but I'm not sure they ever got a single candidate elected.

The CPUSA also was one of the first groups to push for black rights back in the 1940's.

The Soviets used to give them money, it was legal to do so back then.

What ruined them was when Khrushchev denounced Stalin and revealed all of Stalin's crimes against humanity and his own people, membership plummeted after that.

I think the CPUSA is still around but they don't have many members now.

The party itself is far left, while they advocate for socialism, a lot of it's members are communist.

But running with a communist message is too controversial, wich is why they're running with socialism.

England largely in terms of history focuses either inward on things like the tudors, war of the roses, Henry the VIIIth and so on and outside really just go all in on WW2 and "those german fucks bombed us day and night but in the end we beat em with good old british stubbornness and gumption". Communism was always tangentially treated as "something that sounds like a good theory but in practice only leads to suffering because you can't expect mammals to behave like an ant hill" really.

Though nowadays you do get criticisms that some college level teachers basically try to brainwash students into some idea that communism is this trendy path to utopia which to folks i know from places like venezuela is disgusting to them.

Comparing communism with nazism clearly displays two things.
1) You don't know anything about communism, nothing, zero, no clue.
2) You are just a right wing prick trying to promote its agenda.

If you apply communism correctly then you will have a prosperous society without inequalities, you will literally take a step forward as a humanity.
If you apply nazism correctly then you will still have the atrocities you already know and denying.

Probably 70% of the people here don't have any idea of what socialism or communism is.

25% have a vague idea that communism is bad but they couldn't tell you why.

And 100% of people think they know everything about it, hence why these topics exist.

Thats true, but Nazi-Germany and Facist-Italy both had more socialists policies than more capitalist countries at the time. Even though most people focus on Facisms general rejection of Communism, it was at an equal foot rejecting capitalism.
