You guys realize that the book where Azshara was compared to Archimonde was in the same book as Rhonin summoning an army of raptors right? It was written by Knaak.

learn your lore, war of the ancients trilogy stated that Archimonde is more superior than Azshara

not compared Archimonde is superior
When the portal to the other realm was almost open, the combined force of the night elves and their allies from the future (see War of the Ancients) charged in to destroy it. Irritated by the lack of order, Azshara approached Mannoroth and demanded an explanation. Enraged by both his own failure and the questions asked by the Queen, he wanted to rip her head off, but quickly saw the error of his ways when he realized that Azshara was "a force against which only his lord and Archimonde would prove superior".

oh, atlast someone who knows wow lore
oh yeah, this although it was Acrhimonde >>>> Azshara
she isn't as powerful as some people claim her to be.
I doubt Blizzard even remembers what Knaak wrote considering their lore of WotA is VASTLY different than the one Knaak wrote.
thank you

Have the guts? They Destroyed a Capital City, likely wipe out the majority of Night elves, only the army survived, and will be handing over Lordaeron to the Alliance, this will rally more Humans, Calia Menethil is coming back, this will rally Forsaken to the Alliance (Well some of them)
Azshara? That's a corpse already walking (still talking about Azshara)
I said she was compared

estimate, measure, or note the similarity or dissimilarity between.

"we compared the data sets"
They'll never waste Azshara without giving us Nazjatar. So either she escapes before we defeat her in 8.1.5 to come back full force in 8.2 or we get Nazjatar in 8.1 as content patch.
Of all villains left Azshara is one of the strongest.
MAGA - Make Alliance Great Again
Bear in mind "the Gul'dan of BFA" might not just refer to her position in the raid tiers. He was also an immense catalyst for the events of the expansion, before and after his death. And even Kil'jaeden died, but then had an entire patch with him as a main character posthumously.
You might be onto something. I mean Gul'dan had a direct effect and played a major role in two expansions (WoD & Legion) and a minor role / passive effect in another one (TBC).
Azshara is at least as "big" als Gul'dan so I really don't see her being wasted as a simple raid encounter.

"Have guts"? I don't think that is the question. Question is "Does it work with the story and did they planned it?".
Shes a obscure c lister who even in novels is mentioned in a almost off hand fashion why wouldn't they kill her?
"Obscure C lister"
•Ruled the entire world for thousands of years
•The main reason the Legion discovered Azeroth, causing the Sundering and War of the Ancients (and indirectly the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd wars and the Scourge)
•Brought up in WC3
•Controls one of the major forces fought against in Vanilla, BC, Cata, and Legion
•Literally has an entire zone named after her
•One of the Artifacts is the scepter she used to use
•Large antagonist in a book trilogy
•Untouchable boss in a dungeon
•Appears herself in two different questlines
What does that make Deathwing or Sargeras?
In the case of deathwing a boring character that got plot revived more then he should of and sargaras a creator God.
She is just a C list cillian her entire role since first appearing has been to be a unwitting servant of a higher power. Shes kel'thuzard without personality.
So... the same as Illidan, Arthas, KJ, Deathwing, Garrosh, Gul'dan, Archimonde, Sargeras, and nearly every raid boss in the game? Except, you know, she knew full well what she was doing and was happy to do it for the sake of even more power and to become an ever greater monarch? If you think Kel'thuzad has more personality than Azshara, you are actually beyond help.
Are you joking? They killed Arthas, they killed Garrosh, Illidan, Kael'thas, Varian, Tirion, Vol'jin, Cairne. You think they won't kill a Azshara? WUT? She's a mediocre character that hasn't had any development in the history of the franchise, and the upcoming 3 min video will be pretty much all the depth that character will ever have. Azshara doesn't take guts to kill, just 20 virgins with an insatiable hunger for loot.
Yes...he does as he actually does something. The entirety of Azshara's contribution to the plot can be summoned up as she ordered high elves to open a portal.
That's it... maybe they can make something of the character but she isn't a major character in terms of plot. You can go so far as to simply delete her from the plot and nothing changes...at all they don't even need to put a stand in it's a void of a character.
Blizzard only care about Night Elf lore enough to use it as plot or source material for the Horde. Azshara will definitely be killed. They have no restraint when it comes to punching anything even remotely related to Night Elves in the guts.
And led most of their arcane research in the first place. And destroyed a Titan relic cursing thousands of people into undeath. And captured an Elemental Lord, and fought against Malfurion at the Well, and distracted him while Ragnaros' forces marched on Hyjal, and sent Vashj to assist Illidan and subsequently the Blood Elves, lead the Night Elven forces to conquering the entire world and shattering the early troll empire. And struck a bargain with N'zoth to turn the highborne into an entirely new race that controls most of the sea.
I would love to hear the version of Warcraft where you remove Azshara and the Naga cease to exist so Kael and the other Blood Elves die on the battlefield (not that they would even exist, since they are the descendants of the Highborne who were transformed by the ever increasing magic usage under Azshara), and the Legion doesn't find Azeroth until they stumble upon it in person and destroy the world.
I think she'll die in the raid but start something worse, that's the most she deserves :P
Let's go through your list unless it's in the revised lore nearly none of that happened.
She didn't lead any of the arcane research that was her advisor. She didn't destroy the tidestone if that is what you are talking about though she did curse them with undeath. She never captured a elemental lord that was an old God and a abondaned plot by blizzard to boot. I can't recall her being at the well or involved with ragnaros at all... are you sure your not thinking of another character? She never sent vashj to help illidan unless the lords been rewritten in chronicles. She didn't lead the elves to war beyond being a figure head. She didn't strike a bargain the old gods came to her rescue.
The naga are important Azshara just isn't that involved in the plot shes just a backround character.
