I'm a bad egg for letting the old thread and spreadsheets die. Oh well.

Demon Hunter Solo Thread

Welcome to the Demon Hunter Solo Thread, Mk 2. As BFA swiftly approaches, and the shadow priests and fury warriors become ever nervous about what will happen to their specs (rightfully so), Demon Hunters of both the damage dealer and tnak variants seem to be largely left alone. Legendaries and Artifact losses will hurt our class somewhat, but we are far more stable than others. Fracture is replacing Shear now so the days of this type of gameplay will be left with the death of Legion. As a result our dps is likely to be more in line with other tanks, so we may have to wait a few extra months for some kills, especially in multi target fight scenarios.


As usual: Kills require some form of proof, otherwise I'd claim I worldfirsted mythik antoruz, so logs/screenshots/videos are golden around here. Cheese can be funny but just be sensible, bonus bragging points for unique use of game mechanics and complicated strats are obtainable.

Not a DH but I was just wondering (given your knowledge of soloing) if you knew whether WW monks were any good at soloing?

I can't see them being any better than BrM unless the situation calls for higher dps with low incoming damage (early legion Nyth for example). For old wrath/cata/mop/wod content they'll be equally as good as any class. 99% of times for serious soloing tank spec is needed for survival.

^ Oneshot, and played terribly. It's died on HC as well. DPS uptime is low but due to it being a cleaved/shared hp boss it kinda evens out. Kinda.

No real build in terms of stat (mainly going through ilvl and the best optimization of azerite traits on the associated pieces).
Talents are usually 1/1/1/3/3/2/1, with Feast of Souls sometimes being replaced by Fallout for more DPS.

Quickened sigils generally. Sigil of chains very occasionally on encounters with adds.
Of course quickened sigils doesn't grant that much DPS, so it's often neglectable unless you encounter an encounter at the limit of DPScheck doability (Il'gynoth Mythic last heart phase for instance).

I did heroic spellblade today as a DK+her achievement

Fire adds hurt on their first cast,but have laughably low HP so by the second cast,most will be dead

H Spellblade died last week, we have sigil of silence so their casts are basically null and void. Debuffs hurt tho.

Well, that also means that the encounters of Heroic Tomb of Sargeras are definitely doable - with the exception of KJ where I have some reserved doubts as both survival, execution and DPS requirements belong to another realm.
