    Does this scene seem familiar?

    While not exactly WoW related, for some reason this was recommended to me on YouTube;

    Pity I can't embed a YouTube video to a specific time; regardless, does it not remind you of a fairly recent cinematic between a certain Banshee and Goblin almost right down to a T?

    Magical mcguffin that can save the world, bring peace, threat to <x>, etc... is a trope for a reason.

    I am talking about the scene @ 0:24, not the film itself overall... -.-

    Only on a very shallow level. There's a big difference in tone between the scenes.

    No. Not only on a very shallow level. Watch both videos. This is not a coincidence. These people plagiarized from Blizzard.

    The orb on a stick that is an instrument of great power is pure coincidence. Give it up. These people watched the cinematic and stole.

    I did watch them. You do realize it takes a lot more than what is shown to classify as plagarism. Otherwise most movies would also plagarize.

    Meh. This seems like a trope to me. Nothing is "plagiarized".

    Eh, same phrase of words but not the same scenario, setting or theme.
    FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

    One isn't even an orb, or on a stick. It's an egg on a pedestal. You're trying to see similarities where there are none and ignoring the major differences.

    It's not like "shiny, powerful object" is exactly high concept, either. Any random buffoon can come up with that.

    Oh yeah, that makes it totally different.

    The magical McGuffin trope and how it will change or fix everything.

    That's not the point. It's the fact that it's an orb on a stick and that they pretty much say the same exact words in the same kind of reveal scene. Show me other examples of this in fiction.
