But it will still create additional effort to unlock all rings.

My question is about what happens to our current characters. If I have a character sitting half way to 83 (thus having 456,000ish XP), will I log in and they'll be 95? Or will I log in and the amount of XP they have be reduced to match their level?
You will be the same level, because it doesn't actually track your exp as a total that way. In the past when reductions like this happened they just capped you one exp away from leveling if you were over that amount, but now they have the way the reduce your heart exp to the same % as it was weekly so they might go that route instead.

I'd imagine you will still be level 82 and that the % needed for the next level remains unchanged. It's just the numerical values of XP that get changed.

Good, now remove heirlooms as wearable gear to make leveling somewhat engaging. Most of the leveling gear goes in the garbage bin because everyone and their dog are fully clad in heirlooms. I don't know how that's good gameplay design - WoW is built entirely around gearing up and that aspect of the game doesn't exist during leveling for the most part. No wonder leveling feels trash and unrewarding. The experience bonus for veteran players can be preserved in other ways such as a simple passive buff. #makelevelinggearrelevantagain

While I welcome the XP changes, it needs to be hot fixed. They essentially just devalued levelling for the next month if they don't.

I am levelling multiple characters right now and now I just lost any incentive to do it until 8.1.

Or at least limit Heirlooms to necklace, rings, and trinkets. Let the visual stuff get upgraded as you go through the content.

the game is about character progression not about gearing. Gearing is a part of character progression so is leveling up.

and we all know why they felt pushed to do it.

but now that these same people are getting their "golden gem" (or should i say "rose-tinted gem") they don't need to keep the change to appease them anymore.

I say get rid of heirlooms, and then have a 20-25% xp boost buff that stacks for each character you have at max level.

I love how when the leveling speed nerf first came it was "they're trying to force us to buy boosts" and now when the exp required is lowered, people say "nobody's leveling" and "they're trying to hide how shitty 60-80 is". Can we as a community ever be happy about any changes?

    Good.

Now if they can just allow us to get Heritage Armor on characters that we either boosted, or used RAF on, and I'll be Gucci.

No. Buying Heritage Armor is a terrible idea and it is not going to happen.

Or you can just go into hibernation till Classic drops where you and the other "purists" can jerk each other off about how much fun you're having as you kill your 400th kobold looking for a candle.

So someone died and made you an authority?

Please. I'll take them either allowing us to unlock the armor even with characters that were boosted/RAF'd, or with other max level characters of a different race. Anything that doesn't involve drudging alt number 75 through the by now hilariously outdated pre-MoP leveling experience.

Other times they have done this you remain the level you already were but you're like, 1 experience point away from the next level. It might be like that this time.

Edit: this was only if you were over halfway through the level I believe. If you were less than halfway you were back at freshly dinged.

Heritage armor should be acquired just like in normal races: 120, exalted with faction, do scenario. Bang, there you go.
