MMOC would immediately lose about 25% of the revenue that it generates from the forums.
It's not that they can't find active, qualified people to be mods. It's that they don't want to find active, qualified people to be mods. The fact that they pick people who (for the most part) are either inactive or incompetent is by design. Anything to protect that sweet troll money.
And your point is what? Wait, I'll tell you, your point is stupid and meaningless.
You are creating nonsensical equivalencies.
As for what else you said...I say this in all seriousness.....what the fuck are talking about?

That makes sense.
I use him as a punching bag. Let's out frustrations.
That's right. Kill 'em all I say. And then kill all news media on the TV. Then kill all teachers. And Professors. And then of course, authors of books. And then the political class, too. Any judges. Basically, kill everyone, except - of course - you. Because you being the ruler of the world is the natural state of things.
Am I right?

We do, it's just not their job to fight your battles for you.

Man, that was a clever line form me. Don't dissect it. You know exactly what I mean and are being obtuse. Totally ruining my cool.
Win your argument, don't expect a moderator to remove a troll just because you can't argue against a troll. Or heck, ignore him. Is all I'm saying. These tools don't even troll very well, it's too transparent, too stupid... show them up for the clowns they are and be done with it. Or, move on.

The trick is to not necessarily to win an argument or to convince them. The important bit is to show all those lurkers that follow these discussions that the troll's viewpoint is neither legit, nor normal. A reaction is, however, necessary. Be condescending, troll them back, get angry, mock them... whatever works best for you, but show that you oppose their idiocy and that it will never be mainstream, nor tolerated for them to behave like that.
If you want to win that argument and get them to admit defeat, that's cool, too. In fact, it's kind of the holy grail around here. We've yet to see one of those deplorables to admit they've been wrong. Usually they crawl back under the stone they came from and you never hear of them again. Spinless bastards that they are.

You're completely correct, but all that show and wrestling would not be necessary if moderation cleaned things up, because not every ridiculous concept needs to be discussed in the first place. That's why Germany doesn't give holocaust deniers a platform or why RPG.net simply banned Trump support. You know, we're in the right, I know, we're in the right, but some moron will read these exchanges and radicalize himself.
We wouldn't let ISIS publicly recruit on these forums, no idea, why we permit Nazis.
Your argument isn't sound. Germany may not give holocaust deniers a platform, but that doesn't stop neonazis from spreading their propaganda. These trolls here know the limits very well, they have burned countless accounts to find them. So they stay below the threshold and let you trip over it when you respond to them.
And if you say "let's improve immigration control", that's legit, isn't it? I mean, it's just a regular political goal. Of course, your average nazi equates that with flamethrowers at the border, while you and I think about improved and more efficient bureaucracy.

We absolutely should expect this of a moderator, it is their purpose. Arguing against a troll is feeding it. Usually I am forced to ignore because no action is taken. Often I forget why I put someone on ignore but then they make some inane posts about the merit of feeding trolls and remind me.

Yes, well... the low key moderation here isn't exactly a new thing. Why do you people keep on crying after moderation when we all know they'll only go for personal insults and stuff that could be construed as actually criminal. I mean, who's wasting more time now, the troll or us talking about moderation?

I support the free speech of people who want to wear this, just as I supported people wearing this t-shirt shortly after 9/11:
I would also support somebody using Antifa symbolism like:
The thing is, I don't see any of these things as an incitement to violence. You only get to the level of incitement to violence when you actually start engaging in a conspiracy to commit violence. Furthermore, reporters are part of the structure of the power-elite, and they should not be treated like some special priestly class that is somehow beyond criticism and ridicule.
Most people would rather die than think, and most people do. -Bertrand Russell
Before the camps, I regarded the existence of nationality as something that shouldn’t be noticed - nationality did not really exist, only humanity. But in the camps one learns: if you belong to a successful nation you are protected and you survive. If you are part of universal humanity - too bad for you -Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Eh...to be fair, there's no proof the driver of this parked car wrote that. Like, HYPOTHETICALLY, if I wanted someone's car smashed, I'd probably write that kinda shit while they were parked in public. On paper, Xeones! On paper! I wouldn't do this, it's barbaric overkill. I mean, you can accomplish the same result with like five empty cans of Coors Lite and a Trump 2024 bumper sticker.
...which I would also never do.
Dude wearing the shirt? Different story. That guy made a choice.
It's rare anywhere, but people do it.
Like the guy who had "Fuck Trump and Fuck you if you voted for him" on his truck.
The actual appearance of the picture looks very real, I'm legitimately surprised you are attempting to argue it was photoshopped not on if it looks photoshopped or not but because you think it was too long. >.>
