So people should not protest they should simply bend over and take it silently right?

This is just basic random protest slogan against politics in general, doesn't mean much.

Thing is, the more people in general reject any form of politics and only see the negative decisions, the less genuine people will be motivated to work in politics (too ungrateful, too judgemental, message being "whoever you are, whatever you do, you'll be thrashed by us the people you want to lead"). And indirectly, the only left in politics will be corrupted ones who don't give a shit.

I agree some things need to change, but there's imo a serious need for "people" to stop being so binary (politics = evil, money = evil, etc). Stigmatizing never make things progress, whatever side, it breaks the dialog, create clans, and ultimately does more trouble than solutions.
For how long you think this economic scheme could last?
How long before people get sick of being exploited and turn violent across Europe?
Sooner or later will become a matter of survival.
You cannot fuck the same people over and over again and not expect a reaction.

Protest is fine, riot is not. I do love me some riot clips where the police dominate rioters.
Do you hear the voices too?

Why can't you just protest the way the system you're protesting for want you to!!?!?
    it does not make sense.
I mean take a bunch of flower and go make a sitting protest while singing sweet melodies, we will hear you and fulfill you demands in a glimpse of an eye.

    Right?

I don't remember the state going soft on any kind of protest to be honest.
It's a standard capitalistic procedure, when the poor demand then beat the living shit out of them until they stop.

we got crazy riot because it's impossible to talk. discontent happen since...well...40 years in france. riots NEVER happen for nothing even in france with all our punchy protesters and policemen.
it is a shame to have to shed blood to get something we should have by a fucking vote. today democracy is a fucking joke.

Seems it would be better to give incentives to use something else than gasoline than try to "punish" by taxing use.

Buy a electric car well your tax on it is now 1/4. You have solar panels installed on your house? Take 10% off property taxes.

I support the "gilets jaunes" 100% and I'm delighted that as a French ex-pat living in the U.S., my country is showing the rest of the world that the French are some of the most courageous and socially aware people in the world.

What's happening in France is a showcase of the future of every neoliberal capitalist country: the system has utterly failed and has been designed to only serve a tiny minority of the privileged population.

Bottom line is if you're going to gear the system to serve 1% of the population and for over 30 years have rich assholes get richer, you're going to get a response.

It's time for an international socialist revolution. As Trotsky said: WORKERS OF THE WORLD! UNITE!

When did capitalism "work" under your definition?

People need to be smarter. Protests should always be a cover for looting. Like if the government's screwing you to save some trees, don't try to go fight cops, go break into a store and steal a 70 inch flat screen TV and you're all even. They're going to take more money out of your check, you got a new TV in return!

Please quote the definition you're talking about, so I can answer.
After you come back from the ban.

Truly spoken like someone who's obviously never been in a protest or movement where the police indiscriminately fires tear gas at you or starts beating you with clubs.

You have two choices: you run or you fight.

I don't condone violence but I entirely understand the anger that pushes people to fight the police or create barricades.

The police are firing F-I 94 grenades that include 23 grams of TNT at protesters indiscriminately.

You instigate violence on non-violent protesters, you will get a violent response.

Thanks for demonstrating how stupid you are by conflating communism with socialism.

I know quite well what socialism/communism is, I lived under it.
Go ahead and share an example of a country that does it right. This is going to be a lot of fun.

I wouldn't be protesting and demonstrating, I would use the protests and demonstration to sneak around, break into stores and loot stuff. See, then I get stuff while the police and protesters are fighting, and no harm comes to me, and the cause is still fought for, while I get a new TV, and video game consoles and phones I can sell later to protesters with broken arms and black eyes.

And it's not called cowardice or stealing, it's survival of the fittest. When anarchy rules, it's not illegal. I believe in standing up to the government, I just don't want to get my face broken and arrested when so many other noble people are willing to take the ass whippings for me so we all reap the benefits later, just I don't get hurt over it.

And I know what you're going to say, if everyone thought like me, then no one would protest and we would all live under the government's thumb. But I don't want everyone to think that way, just me, after all, if everyone else thinks like me, I won't have stuff to loot. So yeah, is it selfish? Maybe a little, opportunistic? Perhaps, but it's not selfish.

    Namaste.

I'm sure there's a way to protest without burning cities.
