Is Final Fantasy 13 one of the worst games ever made in all seriousness

Far from it.

If someone seriously thinks that Final Fantasy 13 is one of the worst game EVER made then they have not played a whole lot of games. I wouldn't even take it seriously if someone said that because it sounds more like someone either exaggerating out of frustration of the game or they're just trolling around looking to bait someone into getting angry.

I actually enjoyed Final Fantasy 13. I never really fully understood what was going on but from the little I have played of it the gameplay was fun and I LOVED the music.

The worst FF imo is always 2. Boring characters, stupid levelling methods, boring villain and nothing amazing about it.

Worst game of all time though. Well I change my mind god knows how many times about it but just some example. Superman 64, The Town with No Name, Daikatana, Big Rigs, most of the shit LJN put out from the NES/SNES era, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Zelda CDi Trilogy, Wizard of Oz on SNES, Shaq Fu and hell the list could go on.

FF13 is not even close to the putrid smell some of those listed games are.

I liked this ff, but I find it very inferior to its predecessors. The scenario is too linear, so what is special about the ff is the side quests, and especially the exploration. In this ff, there is only the hunt for monsters and can be, obtaining trophies as a challenge.
The characters have a personality too simple for my taste. Apart from Hope, nobody evolves. There is a semblance of evolution for lightning, but on the leader side, she is no better than Vaan of ff12. Until today I still do not know who is the main character.

You're not sure who the main character of 13 is? or 12?

For 13: Main protagonist is Serah. Main characters of the story are Hope/Vanille.

For 12: Balthier of course! He is the leading man after all. (It's Ashe)

Is it a bad Final Fantasy game? Yes. Is it one of the worst games of all time? Hell no. When you zoom out from the Final Fantasy series it is actually a pretty playable game, which is way more than what can be said of games like Superman 64.

Best thing about Wakka is how he goes from being so incredibly absolutely frustratingly aggravating to the point of wanting to feed him to a flan to being awesome; takes the whole damn game to get there, but dammit the big dumb bastard manages to pull it off.

None of the FF13 trilogy come anywhere close to being the worst games ever made. I wouldn't even put any of them close to the worst FF games ever made.

I agree that Lightning wasn't a great protagonist. That being said, if you're looking for complex characters, Final Fantasy games are not the place to find them. Most characters just have one exaggerated personality trait and never change. The main problem with Lightning is that she's got so many characters who love her and respect her opinion despite being a cold badass. You can't have it both ways like she does. Furthermore, she's a random former soldier who is so special she has two literal gods and several pseudo dieties who want her as a servant across the trilogy.

They should have made Sazh the main character in 13-1 in my opinion, considering he's the most rounded and human character in the party. He has realistic motivations to go after the deadly godlike beings who rule the world (his son being taken from him), and he reacts like any father would when he finds him again (don't want to spoil it here). He also never becomes overpowered in canon with no good explanation like the rest of the former l'Cies in 13-2 and 13-3.

Yes. It absolutely dumped on the Sci Fi genre for me and it's a genre I actually admire a lot. I'd say one of the worst of 2017 but of all time nowhere near. That honor goes to Daikatana for me. But alas this is getting off topic and into another game so I'll leave it at that.

But as I said FF14 1.0 is the worst in the series of that games in my opinion.

Man the combat in adromeda was great, the best of any mass effect so far. The story could use some work and the animations too, but it's hardly the worst game ever.

I can't say that it did. It was fun but from a technical stand point it leaves much to be desired(THe biggest and loudest complaint that annoyed people, no not the alleged SJW stuff). I haven't touched the recent Final Fantasy yet though

I do like the action oriented combat the series is going for.

Oh it did, and not a healthy solid log either.

The combat though was fun, it took much longer for me to start finding ways to avoid or speed through fights than in the other games.

You mean FFXV? If so I agree, I'm finally playing through it now and while some of the story feels extremely weird at times (Characters behaving erratically or as though I'd done a bunch of stuff already that I hadn't: Looking at YOU Gladio..) the combat is quite a bit of fun for sure and while I haven't used it myself, I do also appreciate the inclusion of "Wait Mode" for those who want a little more traditional combat.

I wouldn't consider FFXIII to be "bad" in the sense that it's an atrocious game like ET or Duke Nukem Forever. I consider to be "meh", which is therefore "bad" in that I'd rather play other games than FFXIII. Dark Pixel Gaming broke down FFXIII earlier this year. There are several great things about FFXIII.

His Character was one of the best written in the game IMO. He was a pretty happy but Stoic guardian of Braska. Him, Jecht and Braska were like brothers and went through everything together. They found out about Sin and they all lost their lives one way or another. Imagine knowing you failed and that only way you can save the World is by bringing together the Daughter of the Guy that willingly turned your the Father of the other guy's dad into the actual incarnation of Sin.

All whilst being a ghost held together by the sheer will of the combined souls of Zanarkand.

Yeah, him being a little Dark is pretty on point.
