    Is NOT a question.

Regardless, I answered your nonsensical questions, which you're obviously deviating again because shifting goal posts is the only thing keeping your silly ass afloat.

Here they are, in case you missed them the first time:

And lol @ the whole "store" argument.
Back in my day, I had to drive to a toys r us and stand in line to pay $70 for a SNES game.

A new launcher? So. There goes what, a minute or two of my time to sign up.
Darn. That ruins it all. Game-changer. I'm done with this series. STEAM 4 LYFE!

Epic games has had data leaks, privacy issues and lacks a the vast majority of features, services and infrastructure steam has. At best its a fire and forget launcher to get to your game, at worst its the reason you are argueing with your bank to get your money back.

It's not arguing semantics. Don't pretend it's obvious that this: "Tracking where are your bought games, where new interesting releases will be, when and where are the sales." was a series of questions directed at me. It wasn't.

In fact, this was an answer to my question:

Not that it matters, but so has Steam. Every platform has had issues at some point, it's not that abnormal.

My opinion as well. If its a good game, it will be just as good later, and I'll be confident in my purchase. If its bad, then I can save myself a little $$.

While Epic's certainly not the worst launcher out there, I did have an issue or two with it before they made the "big announcement", so its not the best for me personally, either.

So 4A games has responded on a russian gaming forum it seems and this is definitely the new "Do you not have phones quote?"

    https://www.gameru.net/forum/index.p...&#entry1648737

I watched the bubbling. Impressions are twofold. On the one hand, the withdrawal from the stim is ambiguous, so no one has done so sharply (as far as I can tell). This is new, which could cause rejection. Yes, and such a move pulls the need to install an epic launcher, which could cause some inconvenience to the players, and therefore cause discontent.

On the other hand, the reaction of a certain category of players (onli torrents and all that) is hardly adequate. It seems that people did not want to play, just waited for a reason to pour out their bile. That is, it turns out that we (the developers) for years have been hard and painful, with losses, trying to do something special, but a certain category of players believes that our work is not worth even a couple of minutes to install the launcher. Naturally, it is their life and their right, but then what do they care about the Metro? Obviously, it is not interesting to them. I can only say that they were not our players either, they are not interested in our work, which means that, for example, the opinion of such people is not interesting for me either. What is the point for me personally (and not only) to listen to their opinion?

But! Consider the situation deeper. Someone says that they say they crap Exodus and the previous games in the series, it will make the world better, they will put greedy developers in their place. To this I can answer that in a pinch, if at all all the PC players announce a boycott of the Metro, then the next metro, if it does, is definitely not on the PC. Better or worse, decide for yourself. I personally feel sorry for the loyal fans, yes. But my assessment of the work done personally by me and my friends and colleagues will not change this. I firmly know that almost everyone who pours this dirt on the net is also incapable of a bit of what we have done and hopefully do more. And that means they have no idea what they are talking about.

And further. Despite the fact that during the development I went through each level of each game, hell knows how many times, it is interesting for me to play Metro. I went through the previous parts completely and more than once, and now I am going to go through the whole PC version, to which we make the final touches. For me, this is already a tradition, I always re-pass the game completely before release. Allows you to evaluate the work done. What is it for me? I remember the words of the Prof, which I have heard more than once, both from myself and on the Internet - the game must be made for myself, so that you like it first. And only schA begin to understand this fully - no clever man can shake me about the value of the work that we have done. And there will always be disgruntled ..
Really disappointing. A lot of developers seem to be losing their damn minds the last year. Want to know why I don't want to install the epic launcher? There's a great list out there.

    • They have terrible security (80 million accounts were exposed last week)
    • They have terrible customer service (just google it)
    • Games are more expensive on Epic due to regional pricing
    • You can't play games offline
    • Limited social features
    • No screenshots
    • No controller support
    • They broke EU laws (and still do)
    • Scummy tactics (you had to tick a box to opt out of emails etc)
    • They are partially owned by Tencent (a company that sells user data to the Chinese government)
    • No achievements
    • No cloud saves
    • No game forums (many people went to steam for subnautica support)
    • Epic make you pay the transaction fee when purchasing games (Like this)
    • They are anti-consumer (They pay for exclusive rights to games to try and force you to use their store)
    • They can refuse refunds even if you meet the criteria
    • No reviews(probably because they saw something like the metro bombing coming)
    • No Linux support

But they're a really great platform if you ignore all these issues.

The best way I find when dealing with discontent consumers is to antogonize them even more.

And to threaten them or even fear them in no more titles on PC.

Good luck with that, out with the old in with the new I say.

And by that I don't mean trash like the epic company.

With the recent shit they've pulled I hope the game fails. China's been a serious security threat for a while and Epic being partially owned by Tencent was enough to make me uninstall the launcher.

What boggles my mind is their decision to sell exclusivity, while arguing, that "you'll just need to install a new launcher" without looking deeper into this issue (WHY people don't want to install this particular launcher), threatening to stop developing Metro for PC, and say that they feel sorry for loyal fans. How can you say that you feel sorry for fans of series, while denying them ability to buy the game in the first place? Could they explain that they had to do this and they had no other option? Or maybe show their reasoning behind locking their game to one of the shitties e-shops out there?
Their mention of game piracy (as in "onli torrents and all that" - players who only torrent games) is just ridiculous, people are complaining that they can't buy the game on a platform they want, software pirates are laughing at everyone while eating popcorn, since this situation doesn't affect them at all

Oh yeah, and as people pointed out in thread you posted - huge part of Metro fans are from CIS countries, good luck selling console exclusive there, everyone knows how popular those things are in russia, at least.

And since i'm lurking that forum now for more hilarity and stumbled upon this picture, i'm going to repost it here: (https://i.redd.it/iivwvbxh2rd21.jpg)

But it looks kinda outdated with "curation" row

On the forum there is a disclaimer:

Don't think that the perception of people keep disclaimers in mind when passing judgement on a company or person.

Well legally it will hold if someone will push anything to the court, but game journalists don't care, damage is done and i hope scynet (user-4A-employee who posted this originally) won't get in trouble for this.

Further in thread there is another post of 4A emplyee:

"Yura, wat did you do?? *newyearlaughemoticon*"
Damn that is a good read

Another bit from the same thread
    Sergey Galyonkin:
Steam requires price parity in its contract. Games can't be sold for 100rub on Steam and for 82rub on Epic
    Joe Black:
i.e. even discounts should be arranged on the same day?
    Sergey Galyonkin:
I think it relates only to base price.

In between Metro and Steam - I choose Metro.

Great games and great studio, I don't give a flying fuck where they put this game on, installing another store launcher did not kill me so far.

  16. #176
To shift the topic a bit - does anyone know if this one is going to have adjustable FoV built in? Because the other two were unplayable for me.

A different Launcher isn't an instant no for me. I'm just getting sick of every fucking company starting their own launchers now, since it just fragments everything. At least when 99% of things were on Steam you didn't need to worry about jumping between launchers and having multiple passwords and shit.

Most of it isn't "omg sky is falling" type of shit just "uggh.. why fuck up the convenience we've had for years constantly now."

Answer is as usual $$$. I don't fault A4 and others, Steam takes really monstrous cut - I think it's good other stores are creeping up, which will hopefully get Steam off its throne a bit.

Don't care about dozens of launchers I have Steam, EGS, Discord, 4game, Origin, Uplay and the list goes further. It's that I've got the best offer on each and every of my games due to the competition of these platforms.

It's the same 30% Microsoft and Sony take for console versions (with an option to cut that back to 20% with good sales), maybe they should stop releasing console versions too, if it isn't economically viable.
