1. This was retarded as fuck. Like, whats even the joke? I can understand if they made some funny banter out of it. But the picture is literally just them pointing at a noose with no caption.
2. People making this about race need to shut the fuck up and sit down. Hanging existed way before black people were slaves in Europe or America.
3. This shouldn't really even be a big deal. If anything, the teachers who got it sent to them should probably be a bit weirded out but thats it. But guess what, America? African-American students especially are unable to ever stop thinking if their bias guides them and white students have never deserved to potentially be exposed to that bias.

Freedom of Speech never means Freedom of Consequences. Those people are in their right to express their opinions and those they work for have the right to fire them. But nobody is saying that. It's equally unnecessary to immediately assume that it's totally fine. That's why it's being investigated, so we can find out what the truth is.

The real problem is that when there's even any question as to whether something is racist or not, Team Nobody is Ever Racist and in this specific case, 'Sub-Team Knots are Cool' jump into action and cry oppression at everyone who's just having a little look to see if there could be a tiny bit of racism there for the sake of knowing what the fuck we're even talking about here. Checking to see if something is true is not the same thing as declaring it to be so.

Well this is confusing because not only do I think that the optics are obviously problematic, I also don't know for certain that they were intentionally going for that. Intentions aside, you'd have to be a complete moron to not see this blowback coming from a million miles off.

The weird thing is that if somebody even brings up the possibility of it being racist, specifically in the context of 'we should look into this and reserve judgement', you instantly get a bunch of mad cunts being all like:

My point is that they've been suspended while it all gets sorted out, which is absolutely the right call. Saying that they shouldn't be fired before actually knowing the facts of the situation is just as ridiculous as saying that they should. The only sensible position is to be completely agnostic on the question of their future employment status until the information is available to make that call, and when people make excuses for them and jump to their defense with complete asspull alternative narratives based on no facts whatsoever it belies a pretty clear bias towards blindly denying any and all accusations of racism because SJWs bad, or something.

We just don't have the facts, so I see no reason why anybody would put so much effort into looking for reasons why an accusation isn't true in this situation unless they didn't want it to be true.
