I think the world would be better off if everyone was Middle Class

I hear racism is keeping a large percentage of the Mexican population in poverty. I think the world would be better off if everyone was middle class. If everyone was middle class maybe they would be more supportive of space exploration.

I want the people of Mexico to be able to afford copies of The Expanse novels and Mass Effect.

I also think every girl on Earth is entitled to at least one American Girl doll.

    Sounds like communism to me!

Not that that's a bad thing, communism sounds fantastic on paper, and if we were somehow able to pull it off as it's meant to be, it would probably benefit humanity, but humans are gonna human and fuck it up (again)

I'd rather raise the minimum living conditions for everyone than deny pursuit of grandeur, though admittedly some have managed to acquire quite a ridiculous level of said grandeur.
Now you see it. Now you don't.

    But was where Dalaran?

If everyone was middle class, there would be no system of higher power to create government, and create industry in order to make jobs.

What your asking for is the delusion of communism

This was a great troll post.
On a serious note, I live in Australia and today I had my first experience with a mexican. I couldn't understand much of what she was saying so I just nodded a long while resisting the urge to say 'speak australian ffs'. I hear they are good people but the darker mexicans are pretty racist against the lighter skinned mexicans from what this chick was telling me. Can anyone that lives in Mexico that reads this able to confirm?

No thanks. And I know how it feels to be extremely poor. But humans are not ants and we each have our own desires and goals in life. Presently I am content with my financial situation. But it is not something I wised for only, but a condition I worked hard and make sacrifices to reach. Each to his own when it comes to our own comfort levels.

From my dealings with Mexicans while living in San Diego, the lighter skinned ones are very hateful to the dark skinned ones.
Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I support the other side.

That was the goal of communism in the Soviet Union.

Turned out everyone was poor, except for the elites.

I think we should aim to make middle class the minimum. Decent starting wages, decent housing, decent education/healthcare, etc. But I don't think we should put a cap on how far people go.

Instead we need to keep regulations in place to keep the worst of capitalism from abusing the people and we need to continuously improve our anti-corruption systems to keep those regulations rigorous. To do that, we need to get money out of politics, overturn Citizens United and for the love of god stop voting for corporate shills.

I'm fine with that, if we can find a way to keep standards at or above what middle class is now. But I do disagree with the notion of having no where further up to go.

This is where online elections (like mini-referendum) about any serious matter would help.
If the people decide, then the rich and the corporations lose a lot of political power!

Of course some will tell you "no no the people don't know what is best of them" .... the rich and the corporations do!?!!
We have the technology to do it with blockchain already. Just needs a few tweaks and we are sorted.

I doubt the money will give up power easily though. They will try to trick people to think the majority doesn't want this!

What is needed is for the middle class to stop carrying the vast majority of the burden of human society and for the investor class to take their fair share.
Agreed, it should be unheard of for high net worth individuals to pay almost no income tax due to tax shelters/write-offs/tax breaks.

Assuming this isn't a bait thread, then obviously yes, it would be better, but in an ideal situation you would have a good spread of lower, middle, and upper.

An ideal spread would actually have everyone be middle class, that is where economic growth occurs. Poor people don't have enough money to spend and the rich tend to shore it away. The idea that wealthy people fuel investment/economic growth is mostly a misconception.
