By far the Warrior quest for the Whirlwind Weapons as a solo Alliance player on a PvP server dominated by the Horde. StV and Arathi are terrible to start with, but the elementals you have to kill in Arathi are the worst part. They are constantly farmed since the items can be sold, and they are pretty hard for their level.

The Defias Brotherhood quest chain is actually the main reason I chose Alliance as I just really enjoyed the chain leading up to your foray into the "hideout" and delving into the Deadmines. From a story perspective I really enjoyed it, as it really highlighted the fact that the WORLD was taking part in the story, the people across the world are all connected and knew each other from before and that they're all just trying to make their way in this crazy place.

From a game play perspective, yeah...most quests are pretty terrible. But game play was never really Vanilla's strong suit IMO it was the world and character building and the story.

    +1 for escort quests too.

Even the simpler ones (Defias traitor) can be a pain in the ass when the NPC pulls everything within like 30 yards.

I've skipped a lot of the droprate quests. Life is really too short for that shit.

I'll only do them if the reward is a decent upgrade. Otherwise you might as well just grind mobs for XP. Since that's all you're doing anyway.

Any quest where you have to wait for the quest giver to return/respawn

If you ask me what's annoying ...mostly the "What the fuck is my business here again?" quests.

Zones can not be completed in just one visit ( just starter zones). You get there ,do the lower level quests go somewhere else and comeback when you have enough level for the higher ones. This design makes some quests that send you to other zones makes sense.

Little Goblin:"Hi there handsome adventurer. Would you min to kill 3 flying serpents, suck their spirit and bring them to me next time you visit Tanaris?".
You:"Sure Mrs.Green as long as my quest log is not full I will come back to you".

Well, make sense....you are in Tanaris ,you are gonna go to Feralas and you'll return to Tanaris so why not?

Not every quest follow that design. There's some quests that send you to a zone you have totally outleveled and thought never visit again. If you mix that with a quest place that is 5.6 lightyears away from the flight point you have a really really disturbed elf in Darnassus telling you at lvl 55:

Crazy elf:"Hi there fellow adventurer. Would you mind travelling to Feralas, take the annoying boat (Note of the translator: why the fuck is there a boat for 300 yrd anyway? ),ride the whole frigging zone that got no other particular interest for you now, pick this object and take it to me for the experience you could get in 10 minutes of grinding?".

    You:"............."
/slowly step back carefully watching at the elf scared that the guy's crazyness could be dangerous.

The first part of Study of the Elements: Rock would have come crashing into number one but then i did Mazen's Behest. The one you have to get an item from the Swamp Things in Swamp of Sorrows. I don't know how many of them i had to kill and i actually lost track of time.

Came here to post this one since I had not seen it yet. Just awful, and so not worth all the work.

I got super irritated at the Onyxia attunement (Horde). Just non stop running back and forth to UBRS and various zones. Its killing those 4 dragons that made me hate it. Most of the lvling quests I honestly was fine with, aside from the Uldaman powerstone collection. I just abandoned that one. I dont mind killing yetis for a while on same level mobs. It's good XP and money selling greys and shit. The problem is having a group to kill those elite dwarves, on group loot, with a horrid drop rate. Hard pass.

    1. Helcular's Rod - Hillsbrad

The first part of this quest involves getting the rod to drop off a Yeti in a cave. The problem is this has to be one of the lowest drop rates in the game. I killed like 100+ yeti for an hour before it dropped. Everyone else was int he cave killing too. Crazy low drop rate and the quest log doesn't even warn you about it, like it does some other low drop rate quests.
there's nothnig wrong with the quest drop on that particular quest, it's all RNG based. For example, I got the rod to drop on my 2nd yeti killed. Meanwhile, it had taken me almost 2h to get taht item from Skull Rock for the RFC questchain

If you mean the one at the sludge fen the whole chain takes like 15 minutes so it's not 2 hours unless it's super busy or something.

Jintha' alor quests. Specifically sharpbeak but also ancient egg. The flow is just all fucked.

    Sharpbeak:
Go check cages in a random troll area in hinterlands. Easy enough. Then you go to altar of zul to check there. While ur there might as well form a group to kill the 50 elite to get mallet of zul. Go turn in quest thinking you're gonna go to Jintha so you can "enchant" the mallet of zul, but nope, blasted lands. Go there, dude tells u to go to zf. So off to zf you go without the mallet for gharanka or whatever. Back to blasted lands. Finally ready for jintha alor.

Ancient egg. Pick up quest in tanaris. Go do shit in feralas. Come back to tanaris, kill shit in zf, off to jintha.

So jintha, 46 elites at bottom, 51 elites at top. Gotta form a group. But dont clear ahead til youre all there because it's a stupid windy path like Lombard road in San Francisco. So ideally no wipes and you are at top. Kill the priestess, get the key for sharpbeak. 2 ppl only have quest for sharpbeak and wanna go do it real quick but they "swear" they will come back and help. Meanwhile someone already pulled the first few mobs in the cave to clear to ancient egg. Group already split, barely survive first pull, other faction rolls up and wipes you. You 3 at cave run back and rez, the other 2 went towards sharpbeak and insta died to the guards. They run back, rez, complete quest, drop group. You 3 rez, kill 1 mob, patrol comes by with a friend and wipes you again. Run back, rez up, clear to back of cave. 3 mobs surrounding the quest item that you gotta channel to complete. Will take 15 seconds+ for all 3 to complete. Someone sends pet in, grabs quest. 2nd party member gets quest complete, pet dies, 3rd party member doesn't get it. Wipe. 1st person spirit rezzes, 2nd person offers to help 3rd. Respawns, rez wipe, group falls apart.

I was the 2nd person last night. Run back to wipe 3 more times to get to sharpbeak cave and get that quest done too.

    Fuck jintha'alor

I've started skipping those unless it's got an amazing reward or is part of a chain that I really want to do for some reason.

Yeah, only time I'm doing them now is when they overlap with a bunch of other quests

Quite a few quests comes to mind, and I've just given up on some quests due to mob competition. I should also have done that for my worst (or best?) classic experience so far: Bloodscalp Ears in STV. It felt like mye faction was outnumbered 20:1, and I used 5 hours and around 63 corpse runs to complete it. STV sure is fun!

Honestly, as long as those arent overcamped, they're my fav. I play this game to kill shit and I'm one of the best farming classes so it's super enjoyable.

If you see a collect x quest, instead of thinking I gotta collect 5 item, think of it as I gotta kill roughly 25 mob.

I usually find myself killing the same damn mobs 30 minutes later.
