You do know i don't mean the actual stargate... just the concept of visiting other worlds by whatever means magic or tech. Azeroth is getting boring.

Also the Dark Portal kinda can go to multiple places, I remember stepping through it and getting to Outland and also Draenor and don't snark back with "it is the same place", it stopped being the same place the moment the portal was opened.

There is so much they can put in Azeroth without this weird cosmic stuff. There's also the other side of Azeroth which we can explore. New landmasses with new cultures and styles, rather than Naaru bullshit and spacecraft transportation.

I'd love a world revamp (and the world being relevant in some way even at max level... perhaps a Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms with zone wide events that gives rewards?) and I'd like to see Nyalotha and Dragon Isles as zones added.

A new continent preferably an underground one, WoW zones don't really have dynamic lighting, a cave zone with a bunch of glowy plants is the best chance to hit that neon aesthetic + caves are rad as shit.

Tho tbh anything is fine with me as long as its not an island or elf/orc based.

The naaru "Bullshit" has been a thing since BC. There has been other worlds speculation for a long while and we may not have to use space ships or anything like that, they can just use portals(Since that is more Fantasy then sci-fi)

I honestly don't care about what the zones may be as much as I care about how much, the quantity and quality. For example 5 new zones like Cata doesn't cut it, but 5 new zones in Legion does because of a good mix of quality and quantity. A revamped and upgraded Outland like in WOD doesn't cut it, but something like Pandaria or Northrend does. I'd honestly prefer to see a retooling of the entire game, a level squish and a new and improved azeroth with xpacs to follow in future patches, but hey that's me, we all have our own preferences.

I don't care where we go or what we do as long as my class is fun to play. Oh, and no damn AP grind. As much as I love WOW I don't think I can do another xpac with a grind to empower my Weapon/Armour I already got. Its just not worth it anymore.

And then we'd be inundated with tears to the tune of "lazy Blizz didn't even bother to write a story" or "there's no plot" or "why are we even here, why do we care about this stuff" or somesuch. I remember Timeless Isle when they first tried open sandbox-y stuff.

I want to see more weird, surrealistic, psychedelic places such as Netherstorm or the DH starting zone. Places like K'aresh, Nathreza (home to the Nathrezim, aka dreadlords) or Telogrus Rift would fit my bill. I think that the latter, despite its small size, has some of the most stunning visuals and atmosphere in the entire game.

An idea for an underground zone of Dark Trolls working-living with Ogres, or versus eachother, I dont care, but which could still bring the war in Warcraft
But two groups versus eachother could bring the worst in eachother above.

Therazane, or the dragons, will send us to an Investigation to them, because of? Perhaps DT-Ogre found a way for time-travelling, then Chromie will also go mad and doesn't get it anymore?
Also this could give an opportunity to revamp-reinvent several zones. With this Blizz can also solve, use or explain unfinished regions, for example: waterzone in Deeprun tram, Stormwind unfinished instance etc.

Another reason for Therazane could be, these guys are setting up underground worldwide bad-crystal-networks, or something. Both races want to change history, or something. With all those underground corridors and portals, we will get a new and separate way of known travelling (worm-mounts?) to not yet visited remote places.

Also, DT and/or Ogre, are setting up a hidden but simple city in the air, underground they developed some kind of magic to let things float in the air, another expansion? And here it could be Khadgar who will send us for an investigation.

Perhaps we will also discover an unknown underground moonwell on our travels here....which could bring a whole different expansion with lots of new stories....

Something different, to bring more excitement to the Darkmoon faire, the founder Silas Darkmoon could be kidnapped by some cultist-group, or even Gallywix, because of the money-money-money, this story could also be used as soon as Gallywix' own casino opens, competition killer...

    --Edit----
Underground we will meet, ofcourse, a Pirate King.

    --edit-2---
I keep getting ideas about possible story lines about an underground zone, like what about a hidden experimental unfinished but still dangerous laboratorium of... Mechagnome, of some wierd-alchemist, etc...
    Fun stuff

A revamped azeroth where the black empire has taken its roots for 10 years already. How?

Well at the end of bfa you could setup that nzoth has been defeated and after that blizzard can give the player some weird inconsistencies regarding lore, showing that something is wrong. In 9.0 we get woken up by alleria and find out that nzoth had won and had put some to sleep for lols, but there are no more champions. Instead alleria wakes up some soldiers or a random civilian. (The champion of each class died giving the races a fighting chance against nzoth). So basically we start from scratch again, so lvl 1 and we start seeing some maim character who have been fighting 10 years against the black empire, such as anduin.

It gives the dev team at the very least some new zones to explore by having a revamp. Plus making a new main villain we have to work through the expansions to kill, because we never fought a old god in full strenght or any being with our own strength. Also most races are reduced in very low numbers that they greatly are outnumbered by nzoth.

I'm tired of them adding generic winter zones that we don't need. It's like they think every continent needs a zone of each biome. This ain't Minecraft.

I know that Naaru is there since TBC and had a huge influence on it's story back then. Then we return to that, and rather on focusing on the "light" aspect of that enitity, Blizz went onto that space-travelling theme with 8.3. It was awful for me, and yeah, I do think using magical portals to transport over a huge distances (even to the broken world of Outland which has been well established in Warcraft series) is way more "fantasy thing" than using high-techonolgy to travel through cosmos.

By the way, the idea of mass exodus from Draenor is more of looking for another realm/land/world rather than a simple planetary thing. It's all about details.
Just like a quick example of Scythe of Elune. Now, I do play classic WoW, and I have been shocked and fascinated to see that the concept of Scythe of Elune, that balance druid use in Legion, was back there in Vanilla. And that it was associated with at least a bit of lore, which is also the story of worgen curse origins in Azeroth. It's a small thing, that makes this weapon much more meaningful and rewarding to wield. Now, look at Tyrande. She became a "Night Warrior" - nobody knows exactly what it is, it's just another fancy phrase, so that it sounds cool. But it has never been mentioned in lore before and has no value whatsoever, since writers made it up simply because they needed Tyrande to become someone of great powers. See the difference?

Same applies to the world-travelling. Just like demons open their rifts to enter this world. Just like orcs used dark magic to fuel their portal with a help of corrupted Medivh. It's great in fantasy world. It's something acceptable, at least to me. When we get to space travelling through some machinery fueled with Naaru's light... well, that's a lot of stretch there. It's like: okay guys - they had a portal which was opened through magic, yeah? and we use magic in this world? - then it's totally okay. Now, we fly with spacecrafts into the other worlds - but we still use bows, swords and stuff like that. So... what's the point. Of course, there is always some kind of stretch with magic vs swords, but still: it happens in every fantasy and it's a thing that can easily be accepted for the sake of storytelling. But spaceships? That's a lot for me to take.

I don't want to be an asshole or somehing it's just that details matter a lot to me. It's makes the story cohesive and deep. Without it, we can go wherever we are pleased to do, with no limitations upon us. I hate that idea, and WoW already has departured from the consistency and internal logic of it's stories. Space-travelling would be another of those, especially that we have a lot of our world yet to explore.

But if they did it intrestingely... if there was a serious reason to go to another world. Maybe that would have worked. For now, all I have seen is Argus, and it was a massive plothole and failure (not to mention Alleria's and Turalyon's characters being absolutely diminished and ruined). From a very boring, specific theme of greenish Legion, we will eventually go for the blue/purple-ish Void... I don't like this idea whatsoever.

But yeah, don't take is as a offend or something, it's just my honest opinion, and if you are up for discussion then I'm there maybe you will change my mind with some tricky and reasonable arguments

There's never been any mention of Azerite being on Kezan, let alone it being "the original source" so I assumed you were mistaking it with kaja'mite.

I was thinking about what makes the most sense with everything we know now, and made a thread about it.

I'm not sure if I've seen everything, so maybe I am missing some information, but to me it seems like they are heavily hinting at an expansion that not only involves the Old Gods, but also the Dragonflights, and specifically the Dragonflights being corrupted. This has led me to believe that the following things are likely to play some role in the next expansion and possibly also 8.3

    - Clearly N'zoth is out there now, and Yogg could be awakened by Odyn, and C'thun could be awakened by the Azerite in Silithus at the wound. This puts the Old Gods on the table, if not for 8.3, most certainly for the next expansion
    - The Dragonflights are gathering around in the chamber and we have the Wrathion quests, the Old Gods are clearly trying to corrupt Wrathion and the other dragonflights as well
    - Somewhere it was said (I think after the Alexstrasza quests) that if they can't corrupt them, they'll find a different aspect to corrupt, which reminded me of the fact that Nozdormu will turn into the leader of the Infinite Dragonflight, and that is related to the Old Gods, as seen in the End Times in Cataclysm
    - Sylvanas now seems to be officially out of the Horde and she will most likely be in hiding now for a while, but will certainly re-emerge at some point to continue feeding souls to her master
    - Other undead characters (Bolvar, Helya, Bwonsamdi) have recently played some role.
    - Medivh was mentioned by Wrathion and he might now some way of fighting the Old Gods

From that I think it can be concluded that the next expansion could be a mix of the following elements

    - Corrupted dragonflights
    - The rise of Murozond and the Infinite Dragonflight
    - Old Gods, with Azshara
    - Undead forces
    - Wrathion, Bwonsamdi, Sylvanas and Medivh as major characters (maybe Helya, Odyn and Bolvar)

Possible continents: Dragon Isles and Shadowlands

Similarly to how Kul Tiras and Zandalar are in BFA, with both mini-continents having 3 zones each.

Whispers of the Old Gods would be a wonderful name for the expansion, if it wasn't already a name for the Hearthstone expansion.

Many people are saying N'zoth is gonna be 8.3, but I think with the Dragonflights possibly playing a role and being corrupted by the Old Gods, that would cut the whole Old God corruption theme quite short if we just defeated N'zoth in 8.3

Much better to have someone else in 8.3 and then lead into a full Old God expansion. Maybe Murozond for 8.3, or some other significant Old God minion.

Then the next expansion can slowly build up to the corrupted aspects and the Old Gods as bosses.
