Love sliced, raw, red onions in a salid or on a hamburger or steak sandwich. Most of the soups and sauces I make will have an onion in them. Almost always use green onions on/in a stir fry.

I like sliced onions on some sandwiches. There's a restaurant here that has one of the best bacon cheeseburgers ever, and they load it up with onions. Absolutely worth the onion breath that doesn't go away for at least 6 hours no matter how many times you brush/rinse afterwards.

I use to hate onions when I was young, now I Love them. Red onion in a salad, purple onion on a burger, grilled onions on a steak, can't get enough of them.

The texture is fine. It's the taste I can't stand.

Granted, this is not the case for all onions. There have been a select few that were good. But the standard american onion that everyone uses is just gross.

I think onions are used in cooking more than any other vegetable.

I also make Soupe a l'Oignon

White/Yellow - Cooking! Yellow onion is stronger and is best for making stocks, soups and stuffing birds. I use white for sauces and Italian cuisine.
Sweet - Onion Rings and stir fry's!
Red - Slice for sandwiches and hamburgers

I mean, I can get it if you have a weird reaction to onion/garlic, but people that dislike them just because of personal preference...

Onions are great. I can eat them raw or cooked. It needs to be on something if it's raw though. Caramelized is the best.
