Thanks in advance!

Safe online habits. Use Firefox, set the security strong and disable Flashplayer. That is all I use.

And this post should be in the forum for computer related stuff. https://www.mmo-champion.com/forums/290-Computer

For the Internet? Best thing to do is keep strong passwords, I would suggest getting a password manager that's not part of your browser, turning off/restricting Javascript. Dont trust extensions. Block ads.

The best free internet security is you. Any security is only as strong as it's weakest link and that is usually always the human part of the equation

    Make a fake name.

    Be a fake person.

Drive people against each other in an effort to destroy the internet.

This. But you can also be pretty safe by using free software and general guidelines. Here's some good information:

I use windows defender or whatever it's called today on windows 10.
Last stats I've seen suggest that it continues to beat paid providers plus it has the best windows compatibility. Doesn't bloat your OS since it's literally part of it.

Some 4,000,000,000 paid users for top 7 anti-virus companies (Kaspersky, Norton etc..)

Was using Avast when I had home internet.
If I ever go back to home 'net svc, I'll probably use window defender while using firefox+NoScript+ADP.
    At least for awhile.

I'd also advise in sticking with a password manager. Often times, hacking and account theft is done with brute password access. If you simply tag a word with a number and symbol, you're going to be more at risk compared to using a password like "oyz!0akJ86km". That one I just generated from LastPass in 2 seconds. A different, randomized password for every account instead of a similar one across all accounts is a good security layer.

There are many password managers from big boys like Google and Apple to the popular LastPass as well as FireFox's own manager. Pick one and make use of it. I changed every password to all the sites I could recall once I started using LastPass.

And? Big marketing and pre installed bloat ware from Norton do not discredit how good the Windows 10 antivirus actually is.

Also don't trust me, trust people who know what they're talking about. It's not as if I chose Defender for the luls. All research points to the defender being a very, very solid solution. Especially if you combine it with anti malware software.

Anytime I have had a breach it was always from a company getting hacked and then my info getting leaked out that way. The cold hard facts are its not very advantageous to target individuals most the time at random on the internet. Trusting in the right companies is probably the biggest hope of keeping your info safe. Not saying to never pull your pants up and be secure, but just about any of the systems out there for free will do what most people need. From Windows Defender to any of the other DLable ones. Unless you are being really dumb and putting yourself into very terrible positions.

A lot like locks on the door for your house. It keeps next to no one out if they really want in. But honest folk stay honest because of them and for bad folk its easier to find a door that isn't locked.

Except more and more website developers including me are no longer supporting FireFox as their browser does not follow proper standards anymore. So tough shit if a site does not load properly because you are using a non standardized browser, even Edge is better than FireFox now with how it handles modern HTML and CSS, they need to get their shit together or become less relevant like Opera and Safari are continuing to become.

Use a unique password for every single online account you have.
    Clear Your Cache
Never underestimate how much your browser's cache knows about you. Saved cookies, saved searches, and Web history could point to home address, family information, and other personal data. To better protect that information that may be lurking in your Web history, be sure to delete browser cookies and clear your browser history on a regular basis.
Don't fall prey to click bait
Explore apps and settings to protect your devices and your identity. I would pick Kaspersky.
Pros: Perfect or near-perfect scores from four independent testing labs. Perfect score in our phishing protection test. Good scores in our malware-blocking and malicious URL blocking tests. Support for Android and iOS. Free.
    Cons: No direct tech support.

Thats cool but there will always be a market for those whole value privacy and security. Unless Google makes a dramatic shift in the way it operates, there will always be a place for Firefox.
