Your premise is false on its face, and that renders your argument null and void.

That's not what "the left" is doing. At all.

You're also confusing an opposition to monuments which celebrate individuals whose entire careers were in support of horror and human rights atrocities, with the name on an organization that bears essentially no ideological similarity with an earlier form of the same thing.

It's the ideological continuity that matters, and that simply does not exist with the Democratic Party.

Don't argue that things have changed. Things have changed for all the others as well.
Why then not petition to change your own party name?

At this point, it really seems like republicans want to change their name to confederates.

Whole careers in support of horror and human rights atrocities? such as George Washington, Ulysses S Grant, Matthias Baldwin, Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Regiment Memorial, Mahatma Gandhi, and even Jesus Christ. This is surely a list of truly evil people!

George Washington disobeyed an order to not expand west and continue killing and warring with native Americans.

George Washington continued to expand and take land from Native Americans for profit.

George Washington lied about the L'affaire Jumonville which is ultimately a major factor that brought the stamp tax.

I mean I would have a problem with Jesus statues in state places because of the separation between church and state...

Except the religious statues that have been targeted have been on the properties of churches.

Maybe the problem with the first one is it has a bigot at its head? Maybe they were going after those churches for that? Though this isn't some BLM organised thing to begin with so...Thwart 0 points

    White Jesus statues:

"Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down," King tweeted. "They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been."

"In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went? EGYPT! Not Denmark," he added. "Tear them down."
I mean so what? And his statement isn't even entirely wrong either.

    Oh and let's continue

King clarified that he was only advocating that statues of a white Jesus be torn down in response to a tweet from the account of PragerU, a nonprofit co-founded by conservative talk show host Dennis Prager.

"Christian whiteness needs white Jesus," King tweeted to Ellis. "It's not about generosity or kindness. It's not about protecting the vulnerable. It's about whiteness itself. Attack white Jesus to her, and you attack her faith."
I meaning truth these people seem to care more that Jesus is white than Jesus... which is a problem no? I mean the dude was jewish, the most closely related group living today that share the most in common with jews of that time period are in... Lebanon.

The last one is a fucking random statue!!! No one knows how it happened since it doesn't say. How does random church statue now get attributed to this?! This shit has been happen for like at least 100 years, come on now.

Are you sure about that? Why doesn’t your article contain any comments from police or mention how the statue was targeted by indigenous people, prior to BLM protests?

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/12/us/sa...rnd/index.html
The church has been at the center of a controversy surrounding statues of St. Junipero Serra -- seen as symbols of violence and oppression to indigenous populations -- which have been toppled by activists across California.
"One of the factors investigators are taking into account is the recent vandalism to the statues of the saint, specifically in the Los Angeles region," Negrete said.

Serra, a Spanish priest, initiated the building of missions that line California and remain a top tourist attraction. However, when the Spanish armies and Catholic missionaries came to take the West, they imposed their religion on indigenous people and decimated the native population several times over.
    ———-

I don’t think his opinion represents anything... in fact, kind of Fake News to claim it does, when the end contains:

Correction 6/23, 2:29 a.m.: This article's headline originally referred to King as a Black Lives Matter leader. King is not officially involved with Black Lives Matter.

    ———-

Uhm... what the fuck does this have to do with anything?

Anytime something like this happens it is disappointing and concerning. We don’t know if this was the targeted desecration of a sacred statue and our Catholic faith or some kind of misguided prank, but it hurts. For whatever reason, we are living in a very chaotic time and anger seems to be the default setting for people. Our bishop has asked that we live by the example set in the Gospel of Matthew, to treat others as we ourselves would want to be treated.
Why not post pictures from Ukraining civil war... works for Trump super pacs... better than this...

Who wants to wager that if we traced Gohmert’s lineage as far back as it can go, we’d see that before the Southern Strategy, all his relatives were Democrats.

Not a single one claims what he has... most of all, not a single person has taken responsibility for this as a representation of them. It’s not like a BLM leader posted a supporter screaming “white power”, by accident...

This is a blatant lie... none of the links that were provided contained any movement or group targeting or laying claim to destroying statues. WTF?

How did I defend illegal behaviour. Note where I said "it's okay to tear down statues on private property" your argument was somehow this is sanctioned by BLM. Maybe you should figure out what the fuck your own argument is first???????? Try that.

Gandhi? The vehement racist? Who said very very clear blatant racist shit in public that we have documented? You really seem to enjoy showing off your lack of history knowledge. If you're confused why a person has controversies, google that shit.

the last one is just some random vandalism and Thwart is like "must be blm!"

Like is this seriously what a lot of older white people think when they watch the news? Not that it is some 16 year old high school prank, but a BLM turned terror group because Trump told them, hurting statues?

Like in the end even if their fantasy was real, and it isn't.... blm is protesting paramilitary, systemic racism and violations against civil rights and the constitution and old white conservative people are concerned about.... statues....

Silent majority, with a president of US as a figure head, pretty much sums it up...

My soundtrack for this year is definitely a lot of punk rock. I just miss when fighting fascists was kicking skin head ass at a Guttermouth show.

Lol this is so silly but it would give left taste of its own medicine. They should be fine with it too, if they knew anything else than double standards and hypocrisy.

Key word in bold there bud.

    WAS.

    It WAS.

It changed. Therefore changing the name of the party is not required. This is not at all, in any way, shape or form, analogous to changing the name of Robert E Lee high school or Jefferson Davis Boulevarde.
