Because he's right. It is pre patch already. All the new systems in place since oct 13th.

Just because the event hasnt begun yet, doesn't mean it isn't pre patch.

your understanding is wrong. the prepatch started in october. the buff was only lasting for october. it is now november. the buff is gone because of that. simple stuff.

They said the buff would return for october. October is now over, so the buff is gone. Don't see what there is to get confused about.

Pre-patch is the event and has always been correlated as such, so it would make sense to have the rep buff hold until there are actually new things to do in the game. That logic is not incorrect, even though you all are oh so quick to point out that technically the pre-patch is here and blah blah blah yea good for you you can read a number on the bottom-left corner of the screen upon login that wasn't what he was talking about..

Pre-patch has "never" been the event. It has always been when the next systems for the next expansion were put into place/the game changes to next expac number. Can you provide literally anything to back that up?

Oh idk, just every single prepatch in the past? Yes pre-patches are to bring in the shiny new systems and functions from the new expansion into live, but it's also about transitioning the story into the new expansion, which is and always has been done through pre-patch ''events''

I'm not disagreeing that the events take place in the pre-patch, but that isn't what denotes the pre-patch. Even Blizzard called the patch that released on the 13th, the pre-patch. That is just how it has always been. Event's have not always started when pre-patch launches but that doesn't make the preceding weeks not the pre-patch.
