And after 17 years, why dont we have this for actual player characters?!Every person's drake will likely never look the same because the customizations are so vast.

Thank god.-There will be major villains in Dragonflight, but it will feel like Mists of Pandaria where it is unclear who they are at first.
-The story of Dragonflight will be more traditional and less high concept like Shadowlands.
-The team is trying to return to a more grounded adventures with core high fantasy concepts.
"Uldaman is getting a modern revamp that has the right amount of nostalgia while setting some new light on it.
There will be new sections of Uldaman to explore as Alexstraza sends us to find discs that contain the knowledge of Keeper Tyr."
This is part of the pre-patch event, not expansion launch. And judging by this, it will likely keep the existing portions of the dungeon and add a brand-new section that we explore for the event. I can see it now, a new cavern just magically opens in the wall. :P
Bolded for emphasis. Good. Flappy bird-style dragonriding will get tiresome very, very quickly.Normal mounts will be useable on the ground, but not for flying at the start.
Wait... what? There are no Azerite or Artifact power systems in Dragonflight, but a progressions system will obviously be a part of it.
Glad to see the community outside of furries being so repulsed got us some more customization. There is a lot more customization to the Dracthyr form than what was shown in the video.
Players can expect the ability to make the torso more slender or slightly bulkier as well.
The armor can be customized in the Barbershop.
Dracthyr forms will show your shoulders, tabards, and belts.
The visage form will show all armor.
You can customize face shape, snout, etc.
Not being able to toggle to the old UI is a big let down. Also "time works different in the shadowlands" ended up meaning nothing
Can somebody please ask if theyre going to bring back old stats or make new stats for gear? The same 4 since legion is boring as fuck
yup timegated flying and another desperate atempt to ground players confirmed.
strong sign of do not play on launch there.
and all of that in expansion supposedly being all about flying
they once again waste time designign stupid systems nobody wants instead spend that time and design 8 more dungeons for game . to release 8 new dungeons on launch and then 4 new dungeons next tier and 4 next tier.
Ion is pure cancer to wow.

well ofc you gotta farm aspect power somehow . were you delusional to belive it wont happen ? poor naive soul come i will hug you .
No one ever needs flying, and if that's a sign of you not playing at launch, well, you really should go find another game.
This expansion is all about "dragon riding". Which is not how typical flying works, and is linked to some form of time-gating so that players will not be able to access the more elevated areas right away.
It's interesting that in the interview with Buffed they state that the team is looking at trying to make the Dracthyr visage form usable in combat. Honestly, it would be the best thing for them to do with this race since it is so polarized. Giving players more control over their play is great.

Sounds like a lot of bullshit. Initially there were no player power progression systems, now "of course there will be". Initially there is no pathfinder and players will be able to fly immediately, but now nope. Crazy how in just a fucking week they're already going back on their word. I'm guessing this will be the last time they talk about it until nonrefundable preorders go out.
Sounds so cool!! Would really like to see an option to hide Drakthyr player model during Dragon-flying so it feels like we've shapeshifted into our true form for flight.. and aren't riding our cousins.
Did you even read the whole article? Literally says that in the first interview.

Just like people were crying that Dracthyr had no customization, because all the information wasn't out. If there wasn't a progression system, there wouldn't really be a point in playing. Literally every game ever has a progression system. That's the entire point of RPGs.
Just beating dungeons for increasingly better gear is a progression system. Try waiting for all the information to actually be released before you cry like a child.
"The ideal length for the Race to World First is around 10-11 days, but balancing for the top guilds is a real challenge."
Or here is a even better suggestion! Fucking don't!. Balance the game for the regular players. Not the top 2%
Exactly.
Maybe with the removal of supplementary power systems they'll stop falling over themselves to balance and re-balance tacked on abilities based on the whims of the top 2%.
And maybe they realized that the top 2% will keep coming back as long as you give them raids to complete. All that other work they're doing for quests, zones, story, and mini-games and faction rewards don't much interest the raiders -- unless they "have" to do something to get a benefit in their next raid. The quests, stories, characterization... those are enjoyed by the bottom 98% who have a much higher chance of falling in love with this game for its worldbuilding and narrative. As long as it's good.
